    I really want to know!

Do all McDs have it? I'm wondering about the ones out in Podunkville. If so, it's worth the $20 as there are more of them than there are Flying Js.

    New Panther/Conway drivers

Like I mentioned in another post, I was told by a Panther driver that you only had to take one load per quarter to Canada to be able to keep your rate. Unless you can't go for criminal reasons or therebouts, I'd say it would be worth it to suck it up for four trips a year across the border.

    Single axle tractor-Baby8 Puppy

The problem with this idea, or the idea of the Argosy/30', and signing them on to a regular company is that the dispatchers wouldn't use it to its full potential. As much as I like C&M, a 30' box wouldn't work there; and they admitted as much. Dispatchers, in general, don't have time to chase a...

    I really HATE aol

I had ICQ way back when, when I was looking for a dame. Since I found one, I got rid of it. Nice to have the puter quiet when I come on here to bother everyone ;)

    Tell Me Why

I can understand the tool thing... but DISCO TAPES??? In alphabetical order, nonetheless? I hope it's not under titles, as 75% of his collection would be under D for disco, or B for boogey. ROFLMAO

OIL PRICES WILL FALL, JUST HOLD ON

Yep... conserve fuel. When you need to go somewhere, only go half way... then get out and push! Seriously tho, we don't go somewhere unless we need to. Now, everything is based on how long it takes to get there, and do we really need it. Supply and demand doesn't usually work if you're the...

Keeping an open eye on the road!!!

Now that I'm solo again, I've found a few different things that get me thru the night. A small nap usually refreshes me. A stop on an entrance ramp for a stretch(because the rest areas are always clogged). The radio helps immensely. And, being that I smoke, I end up smoking more. I'm surprised...

    Single axle tractor-Baby8 Puppy

This has been discussed before, and I'm glad it was brought up again. I was THAT close to doing it myself. Had the tractor, and was searching for a trailer. I'm sure there are tons of drivers, like me, who hate 53'ers, but wouldn't mind something more reasonable, like a pup. It's a shame all...

How is post-buyout P2 for you?

Acceptable practice? No. That's part of why I'm not there. But in a company where you get moved to the bottom for turning one down, it's the way of the world. Reading thru again, I see your point about the truck directly behind you on the board. Perhaps it was taken off their loadboard, but...

How is post-buyout P2 for you?

McBride... could it be that a truck between you and Amos on the board took the SK load? And that's why you were offered, but Amos wasn't? Personally, instead of falling 8 or 10 spots because of the Witchita load, I would've taken it. If I knew for certain other trucks there weren't loaded, I...

Where do you fuel that 07 truck?

I read in the last Land Line that they were rationing the new fuel out west. Denver had to ship some of their fuel further east cause of a shortage. That's just like the feds. Make us conform, then be completely ill-prepared for their own timeline.

    Wire barriers in median

I think they give a reasonable explanation. When you look at most urban highways, you don't even get 4' before you meet a concrete wall. So, if an emergency presents itself, I'd rather hit a wire with breakaway posts. I've been thru a couple of incidents where wires would've helped enormously...

An Other way of looking at it

I agree with TJ's methods. If I'm home, it had better be a run worth taking me out of the area. Being that I'm in the Detroit area, I've gotten some good loads. Sometimes, they came after turning down loads I would have otherwise taken, if I were already on the road.

    Question about Nextel

The owner I run for has Nextel. Just about every time I call, I get "The Nextel customer you are trying to call cannot be reached" crap. Doesn't help if I'm having an emergency. I have Sprint, and won't change. They are absolutely the best, in my mind. My wife and I visit family in Canada, and...

    Evolution or Revolution

Do you not see what I and a lot of others see? It's not that he has all these toys, he acts like he's the only one with them. Personally, when I read a lot of his posts, I get a flashback to the whole Al Gore- internet thing. :P

    FED EX cc QUESTON

This owner sounds fishy. Sounds like he's trying to get over on someone who has no experience in the field, at least till Jack gets wise and takes a hike. I'd also tell the owner no thanx, and look for someone who knows what the going rate is.

You mean the magic 8-ball is a toy? I've been using that to accept or decline loads for years! ;)
