    first out

The 2 or 3 logbooks refers to trucks [and how they do it is beyond me - I have enough with just one, lol], though vans must log if hauling hazmat.

    I'm new

Petie: I'm having trouble figuring out which part you're having trouble with: finding the owners, or getting them to take you on. Linder is correct, calling the carriers is a good start, [also checking the classified ads here on EO], but if you have found some already, and they aren't offering...

Check yours [keeping in mind, you said to shout, lol]. The snow stopped with 3-4" on the ground, which is mostly melted from the paved surfaces, but still covering the grass. [Poor little dog of mine hasn't seen grass for weeks!]

    first out

I found Panther's 'first out' policy overwhelmingly benefited Panther, drivers not so much. Drivers can't even find whether they actually got the next load offered, so they just have to trust dispatch. You might - I didn't.

At least you'll be used to the weather - I'm just down the road from Shreveport, in Tyler, Tx, and the snow is steadily coming down. The flakes are big & soft & pretty, and I hate every single one of them.:(

Is a Expediters Hall of Fame over due

I believe Terry & Rene were around to help with the beginnings of EO [is why I specified them - Lawrence goes without saying, IMO]. If the intention is to honor those who made it easier [or possible] for us to do what we do today, then I can't think of a whole lot of current members who qualify...

Your favorate thing to cook in

Xiggi: it's excellent for browning [grilled ham & cheese sandwiches, or pierogi] and does spaghetti & sauce well too. Last week I made chili, and it was lovely, on a snowy day. :)

    Question

Agree with Greg: it's not my own abilities that worry me, it's the other guys'. The ones we see going unintentionally offroading whenever the roads get icy. [And I've seen a LOT of them!] When roads are seriously icy, I'd rather not take the risk of sharing them with idiots.

    Verbose or Diatribe?

Don't know about the Fed, but I do know that all of them have been here for years, helping whomever they could. Not one of them presented himself as an 'instant expert', but just offered valuable advice to those who asked, without expecting a pat on the back for it, or worse, patting themselves...

    Dreamer - Birthday

Happy birthday to the top banana From me & my dog, in Alabama :) [We're not really, but it rhymes, lol] :D

    Life sure is getting silly....

I was going to suggest that an 'age appropriate' dictionary might solve the problem, till I remembered the 6 yr old girl sitting next to me when I got my hair cut last week: she was getting a heavy blonde streak in her dark hair redone. Then she asked about waxing, as she didn't want to walk...

    woman in detention

That is sooo cool! And please ask Gracie [whom I have yet to meet] if I could buy a pair of those socks - I know someone who would kill for them, lol. :D Ps I can crochet, but have mostly kept busy with sewing - I'm not as good as Gracie, though.

    Is it possible

Is it better than the 'cash discount' I get using the TCH card [$4.53 for 75 gal, last time I fueled]?

    Weather and Road Conditions

El Paso: zero snow, roads are great. :D

    Is it possible

Are they 2 different things? I have a frequent fueler card, it adds reward points when I use it, so why have 2 cards?

    DOT/Trooper

And after meeting alot of different drivers out here the last month, it is really scary how many dont have a clue as to what they can legally haul,or even their gvw. Totally agree, but if you suggest they may be too stupid to drive a CMV, they get really offended... Maybe Moot's right, just...

    Petro in Bordentown, NJ

I spent last Fri night there, and was pleased to note that the front lot [where the straight trucks park], was clean, as was the large grassy area where I let the dog stretch. Don't know about the back, never parked there. There were at least 6 other C & D units there when I left Sat morning.

    No Phone Zone

Without a QC, it would be tough for me, absolutely. I think the focus on cellphones & text messaging is the wrong approach, selecting just the 2 distractions that can be proven, [therefore fined], and disregarding the fact that ANY distraction is a danger. Same thing for speeding: it's not half...
