Less Than a Buck to laredo

But Leo, you missed a couple things that have to do with process flow. 1 - a lot of the process time to book the load is taken up within the window of opportunity. If it is a 'new' customer is more time is taken than what it takes for the load to be dispatched. There is a specific process in...

NYC mayor, major CEO's are plantation owners.

Executive orders are not a free pass. They can be overturned by the courts and have. IF Obama wants to have one, it also could be construed as a possible separation of powers issue because they are used to further define legislatation passed by congress, not redefine it.

You Say You want Lower Taxes....

Sorry but I can't see why people think he is so great. I mean he sometimes comes off as a "babbling bigot who has no clue"

Leo, The thing about the insurance company stuff is a bunch of BS. See regardless what the outcome is, sometimes it doesn't matter if you are wearing your seat belt of not and the insurance companies know this. Some accidents are made worst with a seat belt on but more than not it helps. I...

We Don't Need No Stinking Congress....

I'm waiting for what needs to be reformed? I don't see our immigration system needing policies expended nor needing a revised more humane system but rather need to have reform in the areas where there are bureaucrats running the show. I feel more victimized by H-1b visas than the people...

    Guido and His Van

Well I can't have oranges, or fruit with sugar in it. It s*cks. Just eat smaller portions, get smaller bowls and plates and only take one helping.

Less Than a Buck to laredo

Steve, I disagree for a lot of reasons. It isn't even about speed, the system is what Fedex wants it to be, not what the contractors think it could be and the myopic view of the contractors seems to make me think that they only think that all the work is derived by CC and only CC. These...

The seat belt laws are put in place because the feds were lobbied by the insurance companies so they can limit their liabilities. It was a secondary law until the feds started to squeeze the states on Transportation funding in order to make is a primary law. I stand by this - if I am supposed...

Can you make a living as a single van driver?

Sorry all of you but I don't see what the purpose all these posts are. What I mean is that something seems to be missing - why does someone need to make a consistent income but have to be in this business (don't laugh at the consistent income thing)? What are the goals? Paying bills? Has...

An open letter to barry from Jon Voight

Back to the letter ... I haven't heard Obama say he won't support Israel. I have heard him become critical over issues.

    Guido and His Van

Oh, I see that you already describe them, Air-Lift. They are good to have. There is a conversion out there for Vans and Sprinters that take the leaf spring completely out of the picture by the way. I think these oranges are affecting my vision.

    New survey/poll on carriers

Pjjjj, You are right about access to management, I don't often see the purpose of it but it is a selling point to qualm the nervousness of some owners/drivers at time. As you said, it makes the owner/driver feel special. Many times it is some operational issue which involved the owner/driver...

May be they are shaking the trees again to see what drops out of the fleet and what stays. Sky, you are only as old as you think you are.

Can you make a living as a single van driver?

I did $64,000 or so in a van with FedEx but that was another time and when vans were being paid real money. Don't forget taxes.
