    Recent current events

Now I understand why China recently hijacked the internet for 18 minutes - they used it to accomplish this plot, right?

    Annoying banner

I'm saying the advertisers [in this case, a carrier] are the ones who commission the ad, and approve it before booking the space - EO simply sells the empty slot in which to place the ad. When ads are annoying, as this one is, the persons responsible need to hear about it - how else can they...

    Annoying banner

It sounded to me like a lot of annoyed folks telling the advertisers [not EO] what they think, and any smart vendor should welcome such feedback, IMO. PS when you were unhappy with Alumibunk, did you suffer in silence? Or did you "sound like a whining liberal"?

    Solo Straight Truck O\O Profitable?

To answer the first question, I am making a living. But it may be that my needs are less than others' may be, along with a host of other factors. Being sufficiently capitalized is just the starting point, not the whole shebang - one needs business savvy and financial discipline and knowledge of...

    Annoying banner

When advertising provides information, it's quite useful. Information is a good thing to get, no question. I like getting information - but - when advertising competes for attention with other content one is attempting to absorb, it becomes counterproductive. Ad designers are going to ever more...

    Why daylight savings time?

Um - it gets light 'earlier' , and dark, too. By the time the sun sets, the farmers are done & the kids home from school. That's the theory, anyway. :)

    Annoying banner

I understand that ads are paying for the site, but some are just too distracting, particularly the new Express 1 "What's this?" banner. It's intrusive as all get out, and I don't like it!

    Why daylight savings time?

I thought it was to help farmers with extra daylight during the busy grow & harvest months, and then to prevent schoolchildren from having to leave home in the dark during the winter....

    Who should pay?

Kazper: to answer your question, drivers are usually responsible for getting themselves to wherever the truck is, and for returning truck to same place, if no longer driving it. As each owner & driver situation is individual, it may be a negotiable item, but I'd assume the driver is on their own...

EO Nation - What's up tonight?

Was also in Florida, with daughter #1 and her hubs & 2 daughters, also pigged out [Olive Garden], then went to see 'Megamind'. A thoroughly lovely day. :)

    Panther safety exaggerate

Bill: you were right to be upset, [not that there's a right or wrong line there], but what you did in response was wrong. Even if you were speaking to the dispatcher responsible, the way to do so is calmly & professionally. If that gets you nowhere, you ask to speak with their supervisor, and...

    Another Noob with Questions

Lovodo: I don't think expediting will work for you, if you need to go home that often. Even a pretty good area like St Louis, you may not get a load going there for weeks at a time - you'd have to deadhead to make the other job, and you would probably spend more money than you made. Maybe...

    Why do Christian drivers...

Cops: Woman harassed drivers by repeatedly braking Streak needs to be careful about "teaching a lesson" by jamming on the brakes - apparently, it can be seen as harassment ['forcing others to tailgate'] even without a collision.....
