    Absolutely brilliant idea!

That's exactly what I'm saying - if they haven't been screened thoroughly before flying the first time [commercially], the airlines would be extremely negligent security wise, exposing themselves to a huge liability. From what I read, they've been overcompensating, at least since 9-11, so the...

    Absolutely brilliant idea!

Lou, I love the idea - but you know they [the bad guys] will find a way around it - maybe bringing the ingredients in unmixed? Greg: agree about TSA, cos any agency that was screening the freakin pilots is ipso facto incompetent.

    Cdl test

I was pretty nervous too, and missed 3 things in the first 30 seconds, but then got everything else without a list. Using a list is like an open book test - many won't learn the material at all if they can just look it up for the test. If you learned it all anyhow, I suspect you're an exception. :)

I'm not that bored....:p Posted with eight fingers, on an HP laptop, using a Verizon USB aircard;)

Ok Everyone, LET ME HAVE IT! Poor it on hard!

Um - the law requires a fuel surcharge to be collected from the shipper, [leveling the field for those who collect it], and to be passed through to "the contracted O/O paying for fuel". There's the loophole: it's the fleet owner who is the contracted owner, not his drivers. As Greg said, it's a...

    Cdl test

What?! If you use a checklist, it's because you don't really know it, so what's the point?

Ok Everyone, LET ME HAVE IT! Poor it on hard!

Maybe you could do what I did: take the truck behind the scale & ask for a Level 1. [First make sure they have the stickers, cos the irony is that they can find you've crossed every t & dotted every i, then tell you they haven't done that themselves, & have no stickers!] I'd insist on...

Ok Everyone, LET ME HAVE IT! Poor it on hard!

Wow - what a lot of bad luck, in just one truck! PS I wish it were illegal for owners [or carriers] to keep some of the FS, but it isn't, sigh. I'm guessing whomever told you so couldn't cite any law, right? It was an expensive lesson, but the fact remains: failed inspections are officially your...

Ok Everyone, LET ME HAVE IT! Poor it on hard!

The guys are right, you know: failed inspections are your fault, and violations should be fixed - how did you rack up 8 of them?!

Ok Everyone, LET ME HAVE IT! Poor it on hard!

Suds: if you'll reread the post, the truck with 8 failed inspections is the truck they 'had to get out of', not the current one. But I'm wondering, Yesteryear: you said the deal was you pay fuel & get 100% FS - how does the owner explain the shortchange? And what does he say when you inquire...

I don't see the point in worrying about it, as there's a black box in my truck, and a GPS chip in my cellphone already. They know where to find me, they just don't want to. Yet.:D

    Has it back fired?

IMO, it's not an issue the mods should have to deal with - we are all adults, and should police our own behavior, as we do our language. [Folks are surprised to hear me cuss like a truck driver, in person, when the occasion warrants.] Besides, at least one of the mods is also one of the...

    Has it back fired?

Sigh. I forgot to add that the reason it's gotten to the point it has is that the guilty parties are folks we like - we don't want to hurt their feelings or embarrass them in any way. But I can tell my friends they're driving me crazy, if need be, [and that goes both ways], so I'm telling them...

    Has it back fired?

The point made by JJ, reinforced by RELENT & Turtle is one I've tried to make before: the bits of useful knowledge that many of us enjoy picking up on EO keep getting buried under tons of irrelevant [and trite & banal & just plain stupid] chitchat. Those who defend and/or excuse it are the same...
