Expediter Hall of Fame to Shut down website after 2011 Expo.

Dave: I, for one, would be happy to see OTM take over the EHOF, because it's a bigger project than you can deal with, [having several other jobs to do], and OTM has a pretty impressive track record. I hadn't offered to help, being nowhere near as internet savvy as some [like Greg], but if...

I can't take the looser losers anymore!

Mostly, it just makes them resentful, feeling that they've been made to 'look stupid'. The misspelled [actually, the wrong word] 'effecting' on the intro to the Women's Forum has driven me nuts for years, lol. Apparently, it can't be edited. My feeling is that a private msg is a better way to...

    Repair Shops in Seville/Lodi

If you say so - I'm just going on memory, and it's been a couple years. I would certainly use them again, if I were in the area, their rates are much less than others, and they take pride in finding creative solutions [that means cheaper, lol] to problems.

    Repair Shops in Seville/Lodi

Akron Truck & Trailer, recommended by Gottago/Jeanie, did a great job for me [electrical problem.]

    Dave: who's 'everyone'?

So have I understood this correctly from reading old posts?

Haha, you called it 'Rockfish'! :D Apologies to all for derailing the thread - I can't ignore a smear, it's a character flaw. Back to your regularly scheduled discussion. :)

So have I understood this correctly from reading old posts?

I'm not the least bit embarrassed by the comments you make - but I am getting tired of defending myself against your puerile attacks, same as Turtle. If you have any argument against what I've SAID, feel free to post it. Otherwise, you're over the line, and [besides looking like a petulant...

    where do i start

Your chances would be significantly better if you are willing to drive team [even if just for six months] with an experienced driver. Check the EO classified ads for 'Team driver wanted" to see if anything looks like it might work for you, and expect to put up with less than perfection [AKA...

So have I understood this correctly from reading old posts?

If so, he is [again] only making himself look dumb by trying to make someone else look dumb, without having all the facts. I have been an O/O - I know what's involved. That I prefer to drive for an owner isn't because I am ignorant, it's because I am smart enough to identify my own strengths and...

So have I understood this correctly from reading old posts?

You're welcome - we aim to please. Sometimes, at least.;)

Two questions, its ok I have a coupon for ask 1 get 1 free

Carmi: can't help on insurance, but I can offer some advice on looking for an owner. You are correct about the maintenance, [if trucks get put out of service or break down, revenue is impacted], but still, there are owners who would rather replace drivers than keep the truck in good order. Not...

So have I understood this correctly from reading old posts?

Even if the income potential is nearly equal [and that requires experience the OP hasn't got], the comfort level is apples & oranges. Cargo vans require a great deal of modification and expense to provide HVAC, fridge & microwave, and comfortable sleeping space - it can be done [esp in a...

So have I understood this correctly from reading old posts?

I have driven both, and feel that the income and comfort of a straight truck is far greater than a van. Of course there are vans that make decent money, but I suspect they're the minority, with highly experienced and savvy drivers [OVM, Turtle, RLENT, etc]. Driving for an owner, you're not...

Thanks to you guys for helping me

That "cranky a**hole greg334" is good for lots of somethings, and I [for one] am glad you're here. Especially when I'm in the mood to argue, lol. ;)

    Getting Shafted In Maumee,Ohio

Redbird: should a driver get paid for delivering his freight 12 hours late, [contracts between carrier/customer/driver specify time sensitive delivery, with penalties spelled out for late delivery], when the delay is due to his negligence? Yes, he claimed it was "your truck", but he was driving...

    Logs, Randoms and 34's

It seems whomever is selecting the random names is failing to remove those who should be removed, and refusing to admit to it when challenged. Like you said, it is what it is - you can go along, or move along, those are your choices. :(

    Logs, Randoms and 34's

Reading legalese can be tough - I spent a long time looking for an answer earlier today, cos I wanted to know what the FMCSA actually says on the subject, which is the first sentence of post 28. But it doesn't matter, if the Fed says you're in service, because they're the ones telling you to...

    Logs, Randoms and 34's

Think you answered it yourself, in the first sentence: FedEx will not allow you to go OOS if predispatched. My carrier feels differently: I was predispatched Friday for a load picking up tomorrow, and have been OOS all weekend.
