    Bob Dylan and Viet Nam

Thank you, Captain Obvious - I wonder if I'd have ever figured that out without your help.

    Escrow

In the absence of a current contract, the old one should be considered to be extended, IMO, so the question is what it says regarding escrow [when refunded, interest?] and "lost revenue" - did it specify requirements you didn't honor, allowing him to make that claim? OOIDA would be my first...

    Wrong Turn!!!

I know my Garmin gets wonky in Laredo, too - wonder if someone in Mexico is trying to make US truck drivers look stupid? :D

    Bob Dylan and Viet Nam

It's the Bataan Death March that's making it tough for me to feel sympathetic towards the Japanese. My current audiobook is a survivor's account [Ben Steele, former Montana cowboy], and I was really getting to detest the Japanese for the barbaric way they treated Americans as dishonorable...

    sterling 960 express

Don Bentz is still building sleepers, under the name 'Bolt' [yes, it was a bad idea, considering the expedite carrier with that name is already well known, but it's what he chose.] Bolt is located at 4532 Allen Martin Dr, Ft Wayne, In, 48808. Tel: 260 387 5779.

Can a solo staight truck driver make money?

I didn't reply because the question specified 'large carriers', and mine isn't [I try to avoid cluttering threads with posts that don't help] That said, I average around 8000 miles per month - some are 10,000 and some are just 5-6000.

I-95 Bus Crash Caused By TT?

The accident happened at around 0530, when nearly all passengers were asleep - and because the hospital required translators, it's assumed many passengers didn't speak much [if any] English. Also, when the Chinese community was asked for help identifying victims, they were assured that...

I-30 East bound shut down at 241!

Last time I was there, Garland was still in Texas.... Need more coffee, Highway Star? :p

FedEx Custom Critical ???? Are they what they say they are??

Or maybe, just possibly, we are having fun at HIS expense, and keeping the thread going because [as a few of the longtime members noted] it's more entertaining than it's been for awhile. We don't think it's a troll, or the banned members that some see hiding behind every third new member...

I-95 Bus Crash Caused By TT?

The bigger the story, the faster they present it - too fast to confirm the details of who said what, usually. Looks like the bus driver first said he "was" clipped by a t/t, then that he "may have been" - now, police are focused more on the bus driver's speed and/or alertness than the t/t [which...

I fear what I don't understand when those who make decisions that affect everyone's safety don't understand the subject thoroughly, either. The qualifiers we're hearing now ["maybe" "possibly"] make it clear that they don't know for sure what will happen in Japan. And Japan is considered the...

FedEx Custom Critical ???? Are they what they say they are??

Pookie: you'll have to make it simple for me, ok? Because I don't get the reply in all the verbiage - did you tell dispatch before accepting the load that your acceptance was contingent upon it being one skid? The rest is just details.

If we don't wait until we know the answers, we may well be dead and/or dying by the time we find them. I don't have "a solution"- as I mentioned, nuclear physics isn't my area of expertise. I just expect that those who are providing answers to the growing need for power will consider the answers...

I-95 Bus Crash Caused By TT?

No one here - I mentioned that some of the readers' comments [following the articles] were pretty scary, because they assume the bus was clipped by a t/t, and they're ready to lynch the truck driver. It's a good thing they can't, because if they could, the poor driver would be dead before...

Considering the potential for catastrophe, I totally agree - there's waaaay too much equivocating ["we think", "it may", etc] coming from the "experts" for me to feel reassured. One expert said he was confident that Japan would handle a meltdown without any major problems, because "the reactors...

I-95 Bus Crash Caused By TT?

As I mentioned in the first post, the stories are varied, the details unclear, because the least injured passengers [who could verify or rebut the driver's statement] were in the rear, where they saw nothing, even if awake. Only the driver said the t/t "may" have clipped him, but that was the...

    First post

If you "have to have no less than 3000 miles a week" then expediting isn't what you want - even averaged over a year, as Turtle showed, it isn't doable. Better you understand that before making any commitments, than finding out when you're broke.
