    Panther truth

Chris: only the person who did it can answer the last question, but I can answer the first. It's best to call Panther and get the official response. Asking a bunch of drivers is guaranteed to get a bunch of answers, and how do you know which [if any] is correct?

    Dakota

For your birthday, here's a joke just for you: what goes 'clip, clop, bang!'? An Amish drive by shooting! :D Happy birthday, Dakota - hope it's filled with love and laughter [and better jokes]. :)

Congress Targets Detention Time at The Docks

Moose: when the government stops requiring drivers to log waiting at the dock time as "on duty, not driving" and limiting that time to 14 hrs after the first minute of on duty time, I will stop expecting the government to fix the problem they've created. Because it doesn't look like the...

    Cheers from here

Hey, TC - some of us have missed you, and your inimitable style. Trump? I know you're kidding, but those who don't are going to believe everything they have heard about you, lol. Looking forward to the book.....

Do you really need a hazmat endorsement?

Whether it pays more is a carrier policy question, and the carrier will give you the current correct info. [Personally, I would expect more pay, as the risks are greater, but to each his own.] Whether you would miss many loads without it is hard to say - if the loads aren't offered, how would...

Congress Targets Detention Time at The Docks

Even another regulation would be an improvement over the current situation, wouldn't it? We're required to log the wait time as 'on duty', which is strictly limited time for us, while the shippers and consignees have almost no incentive to minimize the time. Detention is predicated upon the time...

A huge thank you to Terry, Larry, Charles, and Judy for putting themselves in the line of fire for so long. We hardly ever said it, but it was very much appreciated. :)

    May locations with banter

Tracy and Laura: really hoping it gets better soon, and I'm sure if it can be done, dispatch will do it. My condolences on your loss - I know how it hurts, and only time can ease that kind of pain.

    Would real expediters?

'Higher pay' being anathema to many carriers [and all shippers & receivers], why would they pay more for truckers to do exactly what they've always done - find the place in spite of all the obstacles [no addresses on buildings, street signs on corners, new company name, wrong directions, etc]...

    Library

I'd promised to return "Rise to Rebellion" [about the American revolution] last time, but I didn't quite finish it - had to actually go to work, lol. I recommend it highly, and am now wanting to read on the same subject from the other [English] perception. History is pretty cool, when they don't...

Is There a Sense Of Pride for You?

I admit I was pretty ambivalent about switching carriers, but I feel as if I've moved from a Motel 6 to the Sheraton: nice upgrade. :) I will do my best to make Load 1 as pleased with me as I am with them, [especially Dora, lol] Hey, she only found 3 fuel 'goofs' in a week of logs - I think...
