    XM pain in the arse

I agree. Sounds like the installer didn't know his... you know. Got mine installed at Best Buy and ABC Warehouse (two separate units). Both installs were good. They've done semi installations regularly.

    Sirius radios

Not trying to toot my horn here; but for a couple hundred, you could get an installed stereo that's Sirius or XM ready. I prefer the Kenwoods, myself. Will never have a truck without one.

    $0.68 per mile???

Ahh... but all too often, shippers have loose tongues or have paperwork dealing with the broker in with the BOL. Of course, we all know the carrier isn't to discuss rates with shippers when a middle man is involved, but nothing says the conversation can't start the other way.

    $0.68 per mile???

The Col can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think he means the reputation of a broker that takes more than their fair share will soon catch up with him/her. And said broker will be looking for another way to pay his/her bills.

    autority

Yes... why in the world would you want to pay double insurance, do twice the paperwork, have twice the headache? Do your homework, find some customers, treat your partners right, and you won't need two decals. You'll have as much freight as you can handle.

    Pete 384 Straight Truck

Nice looking truck! I am looking at options of using a Pete 387 as a straight. A 384 might be another option.

Where is Bill any one seen Bill what happend to Bill?

Doug... you mention Palin having no foreign policy experience. Let me add a few to that list: Bill Clinton... 0 Ronald Reagan... 0 Jimmy Carter... 0 JFK... 0 Harry Truman... 0 FDR... 0 Foreign policy has traditionally been an OJT area of the presidency. We all know governors have...

    $0.68 per mile???

Maybe with LTL. Not with expedite. I'm not marching to THEIR 50mph avg drum for peanuts. I'm out here to make a living, not grovel for crumbs.

Where is Bill any one seen Bill what happend to Bill?

Funny how when a pregnant woman gets killed, it's a double homicide. But nada when a perfectly formed baby gets killed inches away from the outside world. Women's rights? That's a naive, typical response. Here's mine... get the FEDS out of the equation, and let the states decide for...

G'night John Boy. G'night Mary Ellen. G'NIGHT ELIZABETH! Vespa... that wouldn't be Princess Vespa, now would it? I knew you were a squid, and you denied it. Why should we believe anything you say now? Remember, you're under oath. :D

    Bush is a Marxist

Whatever you say about Greg, he sure does his homework! :D I'll go on to add a couple of things here... In 2005, McCain brought up on the Senate floor, that Fannie and Freddie had to be reigned in. He was quite disturbed about the pending disaster which has now been brought to light. That...

I never been soo insulted and embrassed from a shipper in all my life!!!!

Leo, you're absolutely right! IMO, that's generally what to expect from juvenile dispatching, and ultimately, the "too big for their britches" company that's too cheap to retain the good ones. Morning... nothing out here is personal. Grin and bear the small stuff, and get on with your job. It...

I never been soo insulted and embrassed from a shipper in all my life!!!!

Got turned around in Jackson, MI once and had to get our bearings. My co-driver typed and sent something on the qc. I asked him "what did you send?" He said "We're LOST!" Needless to say, I told him "we're NEVER lost!" and "you NEVER say so on the qc!" because the customer can see that. Well...

    Panther Squuezing fixed fsc??

I agree having a reserve is a good idea. And yes, if I had an inheritance left to me, I'd have a good reserve, as would most. But I'm sure you've also heard about best laid plans. Got pretty far ahead last month, then had two repairs totaling 5 grand. It's normal for things NOT to go your...

    Panther Squuezing fixed fsc??

Like you said, most have to take into consideration their monthly bills. No, most do not get into this with 3-6 months reserves. Therefore, monthly is the logical choice. Yes, if you have a large reserve, then quarterly may be appropriate. But realistically, a reserve is not in the picture for...
