The trouble with my uncle, Rick Santorum

"Us"? For whom do you speak? Not me. Because the value of his political opinion is not based solely on his life's [sic] experiences in the real world, even if we knew the first thing about what those experiences are. Some folks who are three times his age couldn't produce a well thought out...

    Michele Bachmann halts presidential campaign

Yep - and Bachmann's eyes in the second pic are enough to give anyone nightmares - creeeeeeepy!

Article-restaurants to expand into truck stops

You won't lose weight eating most of what's listed, though you will save money. The closer you can stick to nature [fresh fruit & veggies, brown bread, plain cuts of meat] the better for your health - though it's not easy to do at all. Even with the best intentions, eating better takes time...

Romney Money Now Used Against Ron Paul?????

That's the first time I heard those tenants of journalism - I always read the whole article, and then [my favorite part!] the comments following it. Guess I'm a tenant in a different place. Gotcha!:p [It's so rare for the Shelled One to make a blunder like that {tenant/tenet} I just HAD to go...

    Panther's physical Question

I think the issue isn't how strict the examining Dr is, but whether the cert is genuine - there've been some stories about fraudulent certs obtained by drivers who couldn't pass a real exam. Can't blame any carrier who wants to be sure that the cert is genuine - unlike the drug screen, which is...

    Beware! Drivers&Owners

Maybe it's the blue font - can't be fast fingers, I only use 2 of them, lol :D Isn't worker's/occupational insurance required by Ohio [Bolt's location] law? If so, how did they continue to dispatch someone who didn't have any? And last, why would they cancel it because they got mad at the owner...

    UAW Desparate...

The pendulum is definitely swinging away from unions/workers, [I was happy to read the quote from the worker who said "We don't need a union to be treated fairly" because that's how it should be] but I can't help wondering: if the unions become nonexistent, will management begin sliding back...

    Panther's physical Question

I've had the physical numerous times, [the latest for Load 1, who aren't known for taking shortcuts] and none have measured BMI. The certificate includes height & weight, and a section labeled 'body system' that indicates specific abnormalities the Dr should note, one of which is 'marked...

Second Annual PPP TV News Trust Poll

That was funny. And tragic. And truth. I've never been a fan of tv news, which is odd, being ADD - you'd think I'd prefer the short, quick, jump-to-the-next-clip style, but I hate it. I need to read it, so I can reread what I didn't quite catch, pause to check the background/cred of a source...

    Goodbye to All That .....

Wow! Mr Lofgren has written a masterful piece that describes and explains a great many things I've observed over the past few years. The scariest being the willingness of powerful politicians to risk the future of the US in order to defeat the hated Obama, and to say so, publicly and brazenly...

    GOP has Ron Paul problems

If believing that the "monopoly control of Republicans & Democrats" is more harmful than good is considered a 'strange thought process', then call me strange, ok? I just hope there's a lot more of it out there, cause so far, the Republicans & Democrats have not much to brag about.
