Since it can't make this thread any more off the wall, I just have to say that I made lasagna today, in my cupcake maker. [Gives a whole new meaning to the phrase "Suck it up, cupcake!" ] And it's good stuff, really - I don't even especially love lasagna, and the wonton wrappers instead of...

    contracts: good and bad

As Greg said, the contract spells out who is responsible for what, and the consequences of noncompliance. Basically, I'd say the less you know of the owner, the more detail is required in the contract - out of route mileage is an example I've personally never seen, but it would settle the...

    something to think about.

I understand perfectly - because the ability to laugh at ourselves is a blessing that multiplies when shared. That, and the fact that laughing about an embarrassing incident spoils the fun for those who like to gossip, lol. Attaboy, MX. :)

Vote fraud stealing 50% of Ron Paul's votes

One article about the Iowa votes mentioned [in passing!] that the votes from eight precincts had simply disappeared, as if that's a perfectly understandable and inconsequential event when tallying votes. And I'm wondering WTH?! Because other than the one brief mention, there wasn't another word...

    Newt Gingrich wins South Carolina

It takes a truly slimy scumbag to lead the howls of moral outrage [against Clinton] while in the midst of a longterm extramarital affair himself. And being censured by Congress for ethics violations? By Congress?! How far into the territory of rock bottom does one have to go when Congress has a...

    Unfrickin' Believable ...

And SC just proved that fake outrage and hypocrisy is popular - if you just yell loud enough. :(

Sorry, can't take it any more

Whenever someone blames the mistakes on being a fast typist, I think the problem is more likely that they're a half fast typist. ;)

Sorry, can't take it any more

It's both. Octopi is plural, octopus's is possessive. :) One octopus's unblinking red eye Freaked out the rest of the octopi. Oboy - you're gonna find a pic for that, aren't you?

If that doesn't work, try checking into a nice hotel & order that steak you're always wanting. And if that doesn't work either, try complaining to someone who can fix the problem - we can't, Cupcake. :(

How to think about p!$$!ng on the Taliban

I understand the desire to 'celebrate victory' - but I refuse to agree that the public display of crude disrespect is acceptable, no matter how emotional the circumstances. And I'm honest enough to admit that I might behave in ways that don't meet those standards, sometimes, too. But I hope I...

How to think about p!$$!ng on the Taliban

Wait - you served your country to protect and defend the freedoms American citizens enjoy, but you feel sick when they exercise those freedoms? And you think THEY'RE the ones who are 'unpatriotic'?!

Sorry, can't take it any more

No, but I know what a differEnce one letter can make....:D I get frustrated by the really sloppy writing [compounded by lack of any proofreading at all] as much as anyone, and maybe more than some, as a recent query regarding whether a poster was describing freight or a record of burglary...

How to think about p!$$!ng on the Taliban

How one treats those in a subordinate or less fortunate position is a clear and accurate portrayal of character, and the behavior of those soldiers makes Americans look arrogant, malicious, immature, and UGLY. That makes me angry, because it's not the view of us we want people to have, and...

EO 15,000 Member Milestone - Thank You!

Thank YOU, Lawrence, for the reminder that a small group of people with a vision [and a lot of dedication] can make a big difference. EO works - for a lot more than 15,000 people. :)

    It's Twins !

Eddie: all kidney stones aren't created equal - please ask your Dr if dietary changes will reduce the risk of further episodes of the soap opera you'd rather skip. And try to resist the urge to sympathize with pregnant women - you'll just scare them, lol. :D

HOW do big rig drivers do it?

I agree that 18 wheels feel more stable than 6 or 8, and one can drive faster - but the possibility of having to brake for someone else's oooops! [causing them to waltz all over all the lanes] always kept my speed down, and my truck out of the ditch. It's called defensive driving for a good reason.
