    Home Sales UP 11%....

I've bashed GM, Chrysler, Ford, and the unions. I bash GM especially now, because they are no longer a free enterprise company, but a government toy. What I'm for or against does not determine whose products I haul. If they called me for a load going to the White House, I'd haul it. Disney, CNN...

    Home Sales UP 11%....

I haul International too. Should I buy their trucks? Fact is, I haul for many different customers. It doesn't mean I'm obligated to buy their products. Quid pro quo. I haul their stuff; they pay me for doing so. End of obligation.

Conyers sees no Point in reading Bills

100% CORRECT!!! I'll add one thing into that... there should be a rule (amendment) that all bills have to be written in laymen's terms. The Constitution was written so the common man could understand it. There is no reason the law of the land held to the same standard.

    Hello Pot, Meet Kettle....

The problem with voters is that they want their cake and eat it too. IOW, they want healthcare for all, welfare for the needy, this, that, and the other; but they also want freedom. Can't have both! More government = less freedom. Less government = more freedom. Take your pick. Voting "all of...

    Will you Step up?

And who's to say TJ isn't pocketing the money himself? Could be he doesn't even know this woman, and is using this tragedy to make a few bux. Wouldn't be the first time.

    Will you Step up?

Ahh... just because it's non-profit, doesn't mean the individual can't get rich off of it.

Sterling, Hino, M2 or C112 straight truck

Maybe it is. Something about a million mile engine being babied by 5000lb loads. If I had a choice between a free International 7500 and a Hino, I'd take the job at Taco Bell.

    There was a passing today

I've met him on a couple occasions, when I was with E-1 in 04. He went to bat for me, when I had the lease purchase fiasco. He brought a personal touch to E-1 that I missed when I went to Panther. The expediting community, and E-1 in particular, will miss Bob. He was as genuine as it gets.

    Hold It in Virginia

So Caldwell is saying that the 23 closed areas had an average of only 10 truck spaces each? I doubt that! More like 2-2.5x that number.

    Time for the deals!

Here's a truck I saw on ebay - 2004 Columbia straight, dual axel, automatic, Rig Master, and 442k miles. I have no doubt that it would've gotten $40k last year. It went for $17,400!!! I'm sure there'll be more to come...

Some have said they wouldn't buy a GM Product

No, not a bailout. Regardless, tho. I buy Honda.

    About these companys

You really need to do some research. These three companies have hundreds of posts on them, written in the last couple years. I also suggest checking out the Carrier Forums about half way down the main forum page.

Expedited drivers – a hot commodity?

Touche, Aristotle. Before this mess of an economy happened, successful companies were plentiful. You could have your favorite, then have five more as a back up. Now, it seems, most went into the discount freight service; many of which, came from NLM into the general expediting sector, and pushed...

    Trying to figure something out

Here's the way I look at it. Company A gets me loads for 1.40/mi. Company A pays their contractors 1.30/mi, all in. Company B & C have the occasional loads that may pay more than 1.50/mi, but it's rare. Companies D & E aren't accepted by my factoring co, as they have outstanding invoices...

So if you had to tell someone what to do...

Mrs.X should stay away from the International! They like to blow engines around 200,000 miles. She should also stay away from getting her own authority, as the costs can easily outweigh the profits. And, as many will tell you on here, she should also stay away from a van. Doesn't leave many...

    barry's infommerical is a flop.......

I love the question Dr Devinsky asked him, that's been on our minds: "Devinsky asked the president pointedly if he would be willing to promise that he wouldn't seek such extraordinary help for his wife or daughters if they became sick and the public plan he's proposing limited the tests or...
