Coming to a carrier near you - EOBRs

The FMCSA has issued a proposal for mandated EOBRs for all carriers sooner than they were talking about. “This proposal is an important step in our efforts to raise the safety bar for commercial carriers and drivers,” said FMCSA Administrator Anne Ferro. “We believe broader use of EOBRs...

Judge Rules: MN Fatigue Program Violated 4th Amendment

Not picking on Phil but you can actually say that? Well it will take time because to happen, the specs for the device seem to be clear and those on the market have been tested to indicate very specific behavior when there is tampering. The downfall of many of these devices may be the use of...

    Regular CV freight vs. Sprinter

The Nissan 3500 HD van hightop has a curb weight of 6143 lbs with a payload of 3582 lbs - 9800 lb GVW according to their press kit. The problem isn't that, but they seem to only offer it in one WB - 146" with a 10 foot cargo area. I don't think this is a sprinter killer by any means but if...

Looking for ideas/input for a drivers facility.

John, As much as it is a good idea, remember to design the place that is easy to clean and use some rather tough products that will hold up to the use. I don't think you are looking at truck stop numbers but maybe enough people who would filter through in a week could make it all a nightmare to...

    DOD and Twik Cards

You know this is one of the issues with our dysfunctional TSA, there are too many cards. Get one card with different levels of clearance and it won't be an issue twic/FAST/security.

    why???

Why? Because it is a state requirement. The states put that requirement in effect because people would get hurt at the job and then not be able to pay the medical bills or go on welfare. It is cheaper to pay the premium then to try to get out of it.

    The new "taxes"... fines

And? Is driving a privilege or a right? If they want to put the screws to the people who are breaking the law, its alright with me. I mean Leo, that is a criminal act, so maybe we need to take your route for the habitual criminals in Maryland?

    Trump and the presidency

Ask yourself this, Do we really want to entertain the idea of replacing one arrogant unexperienced a** with another? I think Trump, like Buffet and others who claim to be all for this country stop playing games with this idea they are smarter than all the rest of us and just go away.

    Egypt and Barry

I seem to think that Canada, a country I admire, helped those runaway hence having some culpability in at least part of the problem we had with those coming home.

Turbocharger faied in middle of load....grrrr

How did it fail? Did the bearings just give up the it seized or did the seals leak or did it just explode? I would also check out VW Vortex site and the TDI site to see who services turbos in their vendor's section. There are kits that you can buy to replace the center section of the turbo...

    Egypt and Barry

This is a different issue than the Indians. For that matter applying what I said about slavery in the other thread can also be applied to our present treatment of the Native Americans aka Indians.

    There is hope.

When you sell your sole to the Devil, there is a price to pay. As for Obama, this all goes back farther than him, like back to Ford and Carter. Every president has known about the issue, and not one has done a thing about it.

    DOD and Twik Cards

the DOD thing is a carrier specific thing. If your carrier is a approved vendor, then they can tell you how to get started with the process.

    Egypt and Barry

You guys just don't get a few things. 1 - the administration is scared about a real regime change in Egypt. They have no control outside the money, they can't take military action, they can't do much except to have the same rhetoric that it puts out there with the same attitude they always...

    24 Hour Nazi Party People

Common sense would dictate not taking drastic and irreversible actions based on emotion. Common sense would dictate that we have to maintain our system of law under all circumstances not because we are a nation of men (and women) but a nation of law. Drunk driving is a good example, if we...

    There is hope.

Told ya! The real worry should be Egypt right now, I think there is a chance for improvements but on the other hand if we are not careful, and step on people's feet we will see the Muslim Brotherhood taking control of the country THEN we will be in trouble. By the way, you know about the...

    24 Hour Nazi Party People

Is there something wrong here? Leo I think you need a rest. :) The prison system, as much as I don't have any sympathy for those who live there, is setup in such a way that it protects not just the citizens from bad people but also the entire system we live under. IF we have a meltdown with...

    24 Hour Nazi Party People

I don't know where the increase has happened, gun ownership and concealed permits are at a all time high, and 39 states now allow CCWs to be issued on demand. The European experience is where we get most of these laws, their failure to have a safe society isn't looked upon as a problem but...
