    Secure that freight!

Drivers who pick up preloaded trailers [drop & hook] have no opportunity to secure the freight, as the doors are sealed before they get it. I opened the barn doors once at a dock & nearly got clobbered by falling boxes, so I'm pretty glad to secure the load myself.

December locations... Ho Ho Ho powered...

Yes! I went 2 yrs ago, with both my daughters, son in law, and 2 granddaughters, and we LOVED it! The family had seen a different one before, with a Medieval theme, and they said Arabian Nights was much better. Wonder World was a blast too - I'm looking forward to going again soon. In Nashville...

    Speaking of gun control

I'd do it, except for the number of goofballs who would just have fun with it....

    Becoming deathly ill in France.

But given that technology can prolong life far beyond any reasonable hope of recovery, and the cost of that technology can hit hundreds of thousands of dollars in a few days - who's footing the bill?

Expediters! All I want for Christmas is...

Guys who drive trucks like that are pretty unfriendly, IMO. I always wave down at them and they never smile or wave back....;)

On teachers & administrators defending students

The difference between "is capable of" and "is going to" is like the difference between wearing a silly hat & a tinfoil one. The first may [or may not] make you look 'out there', but the second will leave no doubt.

On teachers & administrators defending students

Forcing anyone to be armed is a bad idea, but I think there would be enough volunteers that even armed guards might be needed only seldom. The volunteers would have to be certified, and trained [including continuing education/recertification], but I believe it would work. School admin and...

Anyone who knows what the POTUS is going to do is just wasted driving a truck.

Turn every school into a fortress.

The assumption that children raised by their biological father and birth mother are always better off than otherwise is simply wrong. Of course it's the ideal family structure, but even when it's present, it isn't producing responsible and self sufficient kids automatically - it depends entirely...

Turn every school into a fortress.

Only 2 on the list opened fire on a roomful of people, and both were aiming at coworkers, subsequent to an employment grievance. The rest were 'thrill killers', [the women usually in concert with a man], or mothers who killed their own children. There have been zero women who shot people...

Turn every school into a fortress.

Looks like we've finally done it: come together [in our own special ways] and solved the problem. ;) Now we just need to convince the conservatives to spend money on mental health issues, and liberals to face the reality that gun control controls only the law abiding among us, which endangers...

    Eagle Pass Texas

Whenever the clerk balked at the 24 hr rule, I called CLC at the number on the card, and they always told me to stay the 24 hrs, and they billed me for one day. I like the 24 hr rule, and figure it's a fair tradeoff, as I don't eat breakfast. ;) MyroHa: thanks for the offer - we appreciate a...

Turn every school into a fortress.

Parents work with kids, too, and having weapons in the home is not inherently "unsafe". Responsible parents educate their children, especially in matters of self defense. We should teach our kids about safe handling of weapons for the same reason we teach them to swim: it may save their life [or...

Turn every school into a fortress.

In reply to Aristotle's contention that women's cultural role as nurterers would make them less aggressive in the face of threats, I offer a few examples of what women actually did inside the school: Principal Dawn Hochsprung and school psychologist Mary Sherlach were in a meeting with several...
