At least she's not on the jury...

What we know in this case is not dependent upon the news outlets, because it happened in Fl, where records are a matter of public interest. Everything the media has reported can be fact checked, if you're interested in the facts. When the media says Martin had "bloody knuckles" or "injuries to...

At least she's not on the jury...

P: can you cite the evidence that shows "Martin confronted and attacked Zimmerman"? Because if there were any, Z wouldn't have been arrested. Martin definitely 'confronted' Zimmerman, asking why he was following, [or, if you accept Z's version, whether Z had a problem], but Martin had every...

A Striking Contrast Among Motor Carriers

I refer to the poster who introduced the subject. Most of us know that there are posters who achieve a very high post count by adding nothing whatsoever to the conversation, even when they have to post to let us know they have nothing to say. Or that they find the subject boring, or silly, or...

    Principal threatens valedictorian

If the kid departed from his approved speech to praise communism, or unions, or gun control, would y'all be applauding his action & defending his freedom of speech? I think you'd be pointing to it as an example of why student speeches need to be approved in advance.

At least she's not on the jury...

Thanks, RT, for straightening that out - it never would have occurred to me to look up how to break someone's nose, lol. Seems it would take more force, but then, I've never actually done it. [I just throw things.] So that only leaves about 87 other questions unresolved - like I said, the trial...

At least she's not on the jury...

When Z was taken to the cop shop to give a statement, Det. Singer introduced the recording by saying Zimmerman had seen Martin while patrolling as Neighborhood Watch. Either Z said that prior to making his first official statement, then changed it [because NW doesn't permit patrollers to be...

At least she's not on the jury...

I'm pretty sure that the aggressor isn't always the person who wins the fight.

At least she's not on the jury...

I have never doubted that there was a fight, only who instigated it. [How does a scratch on the little finger prove your point?] With no really credible eyewitnesses, because they all contradict each other, we are left with only Zimmerman's account. And he has demonstrated his willingness to...

At least she's not on the jury...

Zimmerman's injuries are a fact - how he got them is not, because no one witnessed the fight itself. What I questioned was the lack of swelling in Martin's hand. Even if death was just minutes after, the swelling would have begun, if he hit someone hard enough to break their nose. No swelling =...

    A great idea

I've never set foot in a prison, but I've been in several nursing homes, and I know there are some that are nothing short of excellent. The staff cares for the residents with devotion far beyond what's required, or even expected. If you ever need to place a loved one in a nursing home, find one...

At least she's not on the jury...

Well, I admit I read something on a website and took it as gospel, but that's generally accepted - when it's the actual autopsy report. http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2012/images/05/17/trayvon.martin.autopsy.pdf As you can see by reading it yourself, except for the gunshot, the only...

    Driving Long Runs Safely

Not to worry, 21 - he may be a little feller, but he's a tough little feller. ;)

Zactly. But when he says "like Cheri used to do", that's just wishful thinking. ;)

At least she's not on the jury...

That's what I thought: possible, because from the position Zimmerman was in, the gun would have been pretty close to his own face. I just didn't know whether a 9mm Tec would have that much recoil. The OP said it does, because it's a cheap gun. I've learned to handle & shoot handguns, but don't...

A smartphone I might even like

Ok, check out Motorola Droid Razr M. Gorilla glass, totally water resistant, and the case is fortified [almost looks rubberized, but it's not] for protection. I really wish I hadn't given my original Razr to one of my granddaughters - who knew there wouldn't be any more?!

At least she's not on the jury...

I get information from the documents, photos, interviews & transcripts, not from what people say on websites. You know: facts. If you'll reread what I wrote, it says the tiny dots on Zimmerman's nose "looked like" - not that they actually were. And further, I said it wouldn't make any difference...

A smartphone I might even like

Pandora: he might like the phone I've got: a Casio Giz One. [It's not a smartphone, though] It has a rubberized coating & it's water resistant. I drop things a lot, ok? It wasn't till I saw the pedometer that I realized it's meant for athletes, not us klutzy folks, lol. :o

    Weird electric problem

I'd try a fan that runs on AC - they really don't use much power at all.

At least she's not on the jury...

Except when everything hinges upon the credibility of the last man standing, cause his version is all they've got. Martin's credibility isn't an issue, because he didn't get to tell his side, and can't explain things the defense throws out there.
