5 Things to Know About the Final Hours-of-Service Rule

Does give pause for thought as E-1 cut the drivers pay knowing this was coming up behind it.

    Cat c9 coolant

It depends on what needs done. A flush, injectors, sleeves, and probably a heuy pump would be close to 4k. Depends on whether they replaced the pump. Highly recommended if it hasn't been done in a while. Take it to Cat rather than a dealer.

    Cat c9 coolant

You have to get the diesel out of the coolant system. Drain, and replace with Cascade (dishwasher detergent) and water. Flush twice with this and replace coolant. Cascade is used because it is cheap and doesn't foam. This is done AFTER you replace the sleeve that is leaking. I would...

    Cat c9 coolant

When was the last time injectors were replaced? If it has been a while that is likely the cause. Fuel is leaking in through the sleeves. After injector replacement you will have to clean and flush the system. Use Cascade a couple of times and refill. As a after thought, probably a good idea...

    What gives?

If one is in this type of home, that would be a question. If they portray they are nurses, are they providing that care? If not, then it would beg the question as to why some bill for nurses that can't do anything. Could be a racket in the home/health industry? Think I would be checking if you...

    Cat c9 coolant

Have the coolant tested for contaminants. If it has diesel in it, then it is a cracked/leaking injector sleeve.

Opportunity to buy truck we drive!

Those would be the questions I would be asking including the year and whether this truck has any warranty left on it. That would be imperative with "we will be starting our maintenance fund". If it is out of warranty, you need that reserve on the front end. Who is to say you wouldn't have a...

Pleasant surprises in last 48 hours? Well......it is 75 degrees in FL today and I'm watching a snow storm on TV in the midwest.

    Carrier cutting rates

I was putting the best spin on it using team averages. For a solo you are correct, there isn't a silver lining in there at all. "More miles for less" has no value if you can't run the miles.

    Carrier cutting rates

Might be hard to answer that question. Hard to tell on vans because some of that loss would depend on the percentage of $1.00 loads they do and how that is impacted by a bump in DH. Pulling out my new gold plated Panther calculator (which BTW automatically deducts 10 percent on DH;)), this is...
