    Cargo Space Needed??

You'll want at least 102 inches of freight space. Before diving into this, take a few days and READ READ READ this forum! Go back a couple years. You don't have to read every word, but you'll want to get an idea of what you're getting into. Good luck :)

    Air Conditioner question

You're right. Some folks do like being in snow up to their  's; just not me. I like the cooler summers you describe, though :)

    The best expediting company

Dakota, let me drop the pun bomb: It's a Moot point. :p Whatever he said has been deleted, and he's been sent to his room without supper. :( In a few (days? weeks? months?) he'll be back, offering an apology. We'll all be so glad to see him back :D that we'll have forgotten what the...

    The best expediting company

I think being "banned" means being suspended. It's never happened to me but I've seen members who were banned restored to good graces. Wouldn't help to name names, so I won't.

    Etrack

Tech, let's put it this way: Say you have a 55-gallon drum of some hazardous material on your van. Weighs maybe 600 lbs. It's the kind of stuff that can kill you with just a whiff, and you've got a LOT of whiffs onboard. OH NOO that dizzy soccer mom just cut you off to turn into a shopping...

    Us dot number?

In PA you can go to the top of your weight class. For instance, my old flivver grosses at 8550; I could, if I wished, submit a form to PennDOT to increase the stated GVW to 9000. When you sign the form, you acknowledge that going past your manufacturer's GVW could be unsafe and cause vehicle...

    If you lose your tool..

Print out an impact socket then use it to tighten lugnuts. Check it with a torque wrench. If that works, REPEATEDLY, then I'll believe it :D

    C & M Good? Bad?

Two things you better watch out for, Rob: 1. Are your food stamps usable out of state? You better check before you go hungry  . They might not be usable in your situation for four reasons: a. State welfare systems assume that if you're on public assistance, you can't afford long...

    Stay away from these thieves!

Actually, not! :D :D My credit card issuer, USAA, reversed the charge after I disputed it. I don't know whether or not they took the loss, or pursued cargosoup for it but once again USAA stood in my corner. I am proud to be associated with them :) Lord knows I've made me a mistake or two...

    Stay away from these thieves!

As some of you who followed my http://www.expeditersonline.com/forum/newbies-paradise-forum/48726-cant-get-medical-card.html thread in the Newbies forum are aware, I got my MC authority about 2-3 weeks ago. Now comes the hard part: finding freight! With this in mind, a Google search brought up...

    H.O.S. revisited again.

IIRC the article stated his trucks come back with full cans of beer & soda, so each can is now 12 ounces heavier; that might add some weight :D , and if the drivers are drinkin' Coke or Dew to stay awake, there's yr 30-minute pee stop right there. Plus, there's a couple hills here in PA. If...

Its official as USA and Mexico sign pact to screw American truckers

with a population of 1.5 million. New York City had approx. 530 with a population five times that of Juarez. Granted, NYC is a lot safer now than it was in the 70's, but wow!

What should a buyer look for when buying a used Sprinter?

This may be a dumb question, or it may not: Do M/B and Freightliner dealers repair Dodge Sprinters? If I do get a Sprinter I don't want to have to depend on Dodge dealers to do repairs; from what I've read they aren't very good at it.

What should a buyer look for when buying a used Sprinter?

That's why i wanted to go to Penske; their service records are right there :) I do know this: I would want a long & tall 2500, an '05 or newer. My question is more this: What kind of year-specific problems should I look for? I know some of the 5-bangers have some kind of "goo of death" problem...

What should a buyer look for when buying a used Sprinter?

Even though my entry into expediting may not occur for a few months, I am still torn about which van to buy. My question is this: If I buy a used Sprinter, what do I need to focus in on when doing my pre-purchase check? I would probably buy it from Penske or Ryder, so I'm sure I'd be getting...
