    Us dot number?

Hmm... I had a DOT # back in '04 when I was hauling Amish in a 15-passenger van. When I stopped doing that, the DOT suspended the number 'cause I didn't need it. Last year, I got my own authority, and they reinstated my DOT #. My van is my only vehicle, and it's <10K. So I'm curious: A. What...

Well that fizzled .... van for sale.

OVM, your Camaro's a passenger car; tires are load range B. Most vans have load range D (8-ply) or E (10-ply) tires. Super singles are an option on Sprinters in Europe and Australia; as to why they didn't come here, I don't know.

Ei yi yi... Look what I found while checking the auction sites..

They're scandalous! There are 98 male Smurfs, one female and one baby. I want to know: Who's the father? :)

    Tailgatting

In my ambulance days I once cured a guy of tailgating by turning on a pair of rear scene lights. Those lights were bright enough to work an accident scene, so they were certainly bright enough for this guy to get the message.

Ford Transit to offer deisel engines

I have my schmuck-y moments, and yes I've been a "frayer" a time or two I guess :) As long as I don't become a putz I should be ok... :)

Ford Transit to offer deisel engines

Awesome! I'll buy a 2015; I won't buy brand-new technology until some other schmuck gets the problems ironed out for me :)

Why America doesn't invest in small diesel technology like Europe?

One of my coworkers has an '09 Sprinter; the dang thing is quieter than almost any gasser in the warehouse :)

    Single vision eye sprinter driver

Based on my experiences, I think he'll be fine. I've driven ambulances, vans, etc. and also drove bigger non-cdl vehicles in the past, and the lack of windows hasn't been an issue. The driver must simply be a bit extra careful, and I would recommend he have larger mirrors to help him keep track...

Why America doesn't invest in small diesel technology like Europe?

Also, vans are an afterthought for the manufacturers. Consider this: there hasn't been a ground-up redesign of the Express/Savana since 1996, and of the Econoline since 1992. Pickups, OTOH, are updated at least every 5 years or so. I'll be very interested to see how bold Ford is with the...

    Single vision eye sprinter driver

Being monocular will disqualify him for the DOT medical card. Ask me how I know; my right eye has vision, but isn't correctable to 20/40 even with glasses :( However, the carrier may allow him to sign on since he will be operating under 10K and won't need a medical card to comply with the law...

    How Much Deadhead

See now, it all depends on your circumstances. If I get paid well to go to 17220, I can be home in under 2 hrs! :)

    fuel price peak?

Yeah, right? In July of '08, gas was $4.09 in my area; in October, right before the election, it sank to $1.60. I don't remember what diesel was selling for in October of that year, but at its summer peak it bounced right on the $5 mark. Should be interesting to see what games get played this...

    Question about truck stop showers

No, it's to decrease resistance. Competitive swimmers do it all the time ;)

    It's Twins !

Had a kidney stone attack back in 2003, at 3 AM. Pain so bad I thought I was having an aneurysm in the abdominal artery (a condition that could be fatal if not addressed immediately). Off to the ER, where after an injection into my IV the pain "magically" went away. :D Had to pass that...

    Nissan NV400. Yes please.

Checked it out on the UK website. GVW about 9920, payload about 4600? Overall length about 266", load floor about 168", load height about 80". Good news: 42" between wheelwells, so a standard skid will fit. Bad news: 70" wide inside, so sleeping sideways would be a challenge. Would make a decent...
