    AC question

Layout, Has any of the parts changers actually checked the truck to see what if any codes the module could be throwing out or did a diag on the system? The A/C is controlled by the ECM and a module that can turn the compressor clutch off say if there is a blockage in the expansion valve...

    Sorry no good ............!

Every time I fuel up, the handle clicks off the I tried to start the thing with it open. Tried it yesterday and it did the same thing. I'm thinking that because T/A and Pilot both have a poor record of maintaining the equipment (ever tried to tell the fuel desk idiot that their pump handle is...

Late to the FedEx \ TVAL Party?

Wow Phil seems to have come over to my side of the fence. I don't know whether to be offended or happy but I've said that a few times here and on another site almost verbatim.

Nearly 35,000 Ford workers sign grievance over pay

clcooper, don't take this wrong but the UAW worker has it too easy compared to the white collar workers who design and engineer the cars. Without those who are in the office, the ones on the line don't have a job but those on the line can be replaced. In the past the union was needed, once...

Do you include Bate's Breaks? :D

    Sorry no good ............!

I thought that would have happened with the cops being called too. There is enough toxic stuff in the fuel to warrant a trip to the ER. By the way, file a compliant with the PA's State Police.

    Re: An Injustice Averted

Jim, one of the things I see is how waiting costs while moving won't cost as much. I couldn't refuse the 1000 mile run for $1.40 a mile not because I am greedy but because I need to keep my truck moving. It costs me more per mile to sit than it does to move.

    Re: An Injustice Averted

Freightdawg, I ask the same thing but you know I can't see why anyone would turn down $1400 worth of revenue for the 21 hours of work - that works out to $66 an hour gross. For some it may be perplexing how someone can run their truck for more than a buck a mile. I guess with the added...

    Put me in charge

That is true but he has said his point is that he wants to change it and the only way to change things around here is to make it look so horrible that it forces people to get angry or upset. This has been the case throughout our history, from slavery to sexual predator laws - all changed...

    Why is it?

Hazeltucky, the original land of hillbilly heaven from the 30's. Layout, that money goes right back to Canada to pay for the rent on the garbage we are using as landfill here.

    Sorry no good ............!

Hope she will be alright. I thought most states required the pump handle to reset after the pressure is lost on the line?

Just so others know, jim got a PM with the info he asked for.

    Put me in charge

Exactly. There was a thread about the guy who won the lottery and still collects food stamps, I can't blame him for what he is doing but think it is wrong. IT is the system that was setup to allow things like this, like how some people can actually get paid for a vehicle in the system. BUT...

    Why is it?

It still is a vibrant and fun filled city. It just depends on what you call vibrant and fun. If you like you are stepping back into time Berlin May of 1945, then it is a great place to see what it was like with the bombed out buildings (Michigan Central can pass for the Reichstag any day) with...

    Perfect Time

Yes Linda, you do and so do a lot of other expediters. I'm not really talking about us, but them and it is the line I draw of what we are and what they are. AND I agree with Dave, there are some of the old timers out there and they are getting fewer and fewer every day.

    Perfect Time

I just can't agree with either Henry or you. We lost a lot of community and camaraderie not because of the cell phone but because of the amenities in the sleeper that allow us to stay in the truck and not in the truck stop. Now many are more individuals than a community, many choose not to be or...

    Perfect Time

Maybe I missed something along the way but it appears odd that back then not a lot of people were around and money was good while today money barely runs the reefer unit and there are so many involved with this stuff. Camaraderie is what I thought it would be like but my first night out I was...

    Perfect Time

But Lawrence, I wonder how many loads they get now which has to be more than 1200 and how many trucks they have which can't be more than say 1500?

The Sinking Of The Titantic - FDCC

Yep coming from a guy who is driving a 12 year old truck and averaging $4.32 a mile - all miles. I learned how to shed the mentality that holds many back. I also learned how to use what I have to make money without investing into more toys. It isn't about giving service away but how to get...
