    IS ANYONE moving very CONCERN

Kinda goes along with my rant on the thread about short miles. I've also noticed that when we do NLM, I have never been asked to take a discount and I can promise you our rates are a LOT better than I was getting when I ran for another carrier who relied on NLM. Their miles were short too! It's...

    AT&T Service is it improving?

I switched my data coverage to Verizon in February. The difference is amazing. Verizon has them beat on data coverage by leaps and bounds. I'll be switching to Verizon on the phone service too, but mainly because Verizon built a new tower close to the house. Until now, we had little to no...

Best company if you're based in Colorado?

I talked to a guy once that lived in Colorado. He was leased to Nations Express out of North Carolina. He seemed to be happy with them. You do want to do some research on them before you sign on though. They had a bad rep for a while. Since then, I think they sold or merged or something and I...

Ford Vans with Sprinter bodies types

And I've seen several posts here talking about rust spots on Sprinters... so what is perfect? With decent maintenance, they should last 5 or 6 years which is the better part of the lifespan of any of these vans if your running any miles at all?

    Sprinter insulation

I like this. Where can you have it done? The only thing I've ever seen is the sray foam in a can at walmart or hardware stores. I guess this is probably about the same stuff but a better application process?

Ford Vans with Sprinter bodies types

You have a done wonderful job of digging up answers to a lot of questions. I am not in the market right now, but may be in the future. I just want to thank you for your efforts. I'm also wondering, how many of the E350's do you have on the lot? I would also like to ask Jack Berry, what kind...

    mileage short

Yes, some carriers use different routing programs that amazingly pay you less miles than the practical route programs. The first two companies I was leased to seldom paid what the actual mileage was...not even close. 10% short was probably a good average. I heard all of the same excuses over and...

CAT Scale Search The nearest scales I found are on 275 exits 11 & 20. You should probably check to be sure if they are still there before you head out.

    Heading out into the unknown.....

My thoughts would be to pack light, take the bare minimum. Your in a van. If you need something just drop by a wally world and get it.

    Need info. on A. Blair

Bill ask to see the math. I showed it to him. In that scenario, the driver had 150k miles + some in a year. He had every weekend off and 2 weeks vacation. He also only used 55 hrs of his 70 hrs on line 3. That left him with 15 hrs for line 4 each week and very possibly some time for line 3 if he...

the changing climate and interstate travel

I live in AR, but I'm far enough north that we got mostly snow, but they didn't do a good job with that either. I don't feel like there is a need for southern states to invest in all the equipment that the northern states have unless we have more of these crazy winters. It does seem to me...

    Need info. on A. Blair

If your not averaging 55mph on line 3, your making stops that your not logging accurately. Which would mean that quite possibly the 150,000 mile per year driver might just have more accurate logs than you. There may be days that you can't average 55, but there are days that you can average...

    Need info. on A. Blair

Well, it's not hard to calculate actually. 5 days of 11 hrs of driving = 55 hrs/week 55 hrs/week at an average of 55 mph while driving = 3025 miles/ per week. 50 weeks x 3025 miles/week= 151,250 miles. 5 full days a week and 2 weeks vacation. FYI. I have never done this and...

    who is slow

The DH on that load was actually 25%. 2000 total miles 1/4 of them DH. As OVM said, add the trip out of Laredo to it and the % gets very livable...IF... you get a decent loaded rate to begin with. If your with a lowball carrier...SWITCH CARRIERS! Feeding these lowball carriers by staying...

thinking of buying a couple of sprinters, what do yall think.

Well...yes...you are whacked out of your head. But we should probably keep these conversations to more achievable goals like global warming, 30mpg straight trucks, etc, etc. :) :)
