Don't know anything about prospecting, but I know a little about moving dirt and aggregates. That's pretty good cash for moving a ton of gravel. An especially good time to be doing it too. How many ton/day? The only dredge I've seen was able to produce a few ton/hr.

    60% + fsj + unknown fleet owner

DING, DING, DING... you've won the prize at least twice now. Everybody else is too busy bantering about trust, funding, etc, etc to realize you answered the OP's question a long time ago.

And THAT is the answer to mcavoy's question. Anything past that is complicating the simple. This: Well, I'm not sure what to call it, but it's not part of the answer..to the original question.

    60% + fsj + unknown fleet owner

Yep, that's for sure. He asked a good question. Actually, I think he may have asked too good of a question. He doesn't need to know how to trust a fleet owner. He doesn't need to know how to ask a better question. He needs to know how to cover his own azz if he signs on with a...

    60% + fsj + unknown fleet owner

You would hope that this would be the case, but there are some real horror stories out there. I had never considered what Mcavoy asked about, but it does make sense. What if you buy the fuel for a week, 2 weeks, whatever only to find the owner is broke and not paying. You not only loose the...

It's nice to get out of the truck and with their "name your price" option, I get really nice rooms at really low prices. I probably buy a few more rooms than I really should, but it don't take much to talk me into it :D

Roughing it in OKC. Delivered Mon morning. We do have a shipper here, so thought I would give it a couple days. Temp's in the 110 range, so I used Priceline to get a cheap room at this flea bag hotel :D ---> Wyndham Garden Hotel Oklahoma City Airport, Oklahoma City, OK, United States Overview |...

    Dallas follies

From what I've seen, all of the truckstops along that stretch of I-20 are the same. I won't stay anywhere near the area. The Pilot in Ft.Worth has always been my choice. The TA in Rockwall is good, although I have heard of problems there too. I have never tried it, but I'm told that there is a...

    Dallas follies

You can bet that they weren't there for YOUR benefit. I'm telling ya, that ain't a good place to be. It doesn't matter if you sleep there 100 times with no trouble, the 1 time that a thug (and his weapon of choice) gets in your vehicle with you, it's gonna be a rough day. I'll drive 50 miles...

    over weight on steers

What is the wheelbase of your truck? (center of steer axle to center of drive axle farthest from the steer axle). Is your truck single axle or tandem? One thing you need to do (and probably already know) is you need to know where the center of the drive axle(s) is in relationship to the...

Stopped at the Hook, everything the same

It's not the homeless people around that area who concern me. I've always considered that one of my #1 stops if I ever decide that I want my throat cut.

    Question of the Day

Why not ask for a different room? I'll ask for a different room if there is anything I don't like about the one they give me. As long as they have other rooms available, I've never had any problems getting one.

How many pallets are you moving at a time? Any idea of the weight (total weight of the load)? Do you deliver to loading docks? Do you need to be able to? You said a liftgate would be needed correct? Give us that info and I think we can give you a good idea of what you need to be...

Straight / Box Truck Buying Guide

As long as the GVWR rating is 26,000 lbs or less, you won't need a CDL. If it is 26,001 lbs or more, you'll need a CDL to drive it. Note: GVW is often confused with GVWR and they are very different and important things. GVW = Gross Vehicle Weight. This is what your vehicle actually weighs...

Straight / Box Truck Buying Guide

He stated earlier that he is wanting a truck for city delivery only. The penske (or other rental units) would be a great choice. The biggest advantage I would see to the auto, especially if the truck is under 26,000 gvw, you could hire about anyone to drive it (if you need to). They wouldn't...
