I'll bet it works better than the piece of junk we have now.

    loud APU

Trucks that idle and have air leaks or bad air dryers that purge every 5 minutes drive me crazy. Also old reefers that take a long time to start. That's why we try to park out front and not back in the 53 foot demolition derby area.

    The Game

Everything is negotiable. I would have figured the miles to the next busy express center, added them to the offered load miles and come up with an amount I would do the run for. (All miles) Then the ball is in there court and they can decide if you covering the run is worth paying you what you...

    Just for the RECORD

My wife's name is Shayne. Typically a males name but spelled differently. We think it's funny when she gets phone calls or mail for a Mister.

    What's going on?

We have the Firestone drives. FD690 I think. We have 200k miles on them and they still have over 50% tread.

    Load 1 ST staying busy?

Just like we are loyal to T/A because of the discounts we receive on fuel purchases. Over $1700 so far this year.

    Load 1 ST staying busy?

Isn't it amazing that a company the size of Load 1 can negotiate a deal like they have with Pilot/Flying J and the really big companies cannot. (Or won't bother) It shows who cares about there contractors.

    Expedite Solo in a Hino??

I believe there are quite a few solo straight trucks as O/O's. I don't think there are many fleet owners that take on solos because a team will make them a lot more than a solo will. And if you find one they will probably be offering an older truck.

    Hurricane Run

The storm came ashore as a Category 1. In Florida we would be out picking up the palm fronds and tree limbs while the kids would be heading to the beach to surf the waves from the storm. I know it's all relative to where you live. A foot of snow in South Dakota is a joke, but 2 inches on I 10...

Run for yer lives...abandon ship...Fedex drivers scream

We usually get one day a week to reset our clocks and restock the truck, do laundry, etc. We have been stuck in California for the first time since we started.:( Delivered on Thursday, did a short run on Monday, had a dry run on Wednesday and we have a run picking up on Friday. They can't...

A weird sense of humor is a good analogy. I was going to say that sometimes it is to smart for it's own good.
