Sorry, We don't know what the load pays

Charlee, when you ask a Contractor to build a House with out a price before the work begins. It's called "Time & Material" you might be suprised on how many people do it.

    Dedicated to Jeff Gordon.

I don't think Bill France senior or Junior actually fixed a race, but there is no doubt in my mind there were Drivers & owners who received favorable treatment (as in ignoring infractions) for those they favored. Not only Drivers but Manufactures also.

I'm not a Math whiz, but that would appear to be at least $60,000.00 for a VAN.

    Cargo Van/ Sprinter

I have a question for Sprinter owners, how are they on Ice, Snow, or other slippery surfaces? I own a E 350 Ford when it's loaded it will go about anywhere. If it's empty I'm lucky to go on level ground if it's slick. Thanks to all who answer.

    Hazmat ?

As far as paying the $89.75 or what ever the charge is for the back ground check, why not pass the test first?

    A wave of new Expediters?

I am sorry to go back on my word BUT Disability is not difficult to qualify for. This Country is crawling with Attorneys advertising services to get a person qualified. I had two good friends who have since cashed in. One in his late thirties and the other early fifties. They both drew full...

    A wave of new Expediters?

My last remark on this. Mypie your a Saint, everyone on Welfare is disabled, there's not an able bodied, lazy, milk the system person out there.

Mypie, for the amount of people you have never met you must lead a very sheltered life.

    Work or Pleasure?

How well do I remember, it was in the late September, I was strolling down the street quite full of pride. My heart was all a flutter when I fell into the Gutter and a Pig came up and lay down by my side. As I lay there in the Gutter to soused to even mutter a lady passing by was heard to say...

    Things to ponder

When you mentioned Diamond-Reo, before they were Diamond- Reo, it was Diamond T and Reo Speed Wagon. They merged, I believe in the early sixties.

    A wave of new Expediters?

Mypie, I don't hate anyone. I'm 67 years old have worked for .60 cents an hour to be able to eat I have NEVER drawn unemployment or Welfare. The majority of these people are LAZY. Offer them a job and they will say I won't work for that little. Obesity is a life style choice for a lot of...

    A wave of new Expediters?

Cher1122 & Turtle, I am not looking for an argument, but I also read the Article about obese people. Saying Mississippi had the most Obese people. Unfrickinbelivable

When I was, for a short time with Panther I found 95% of the Dispatchers to be pleasant and helpful. One in particular who worked the late afternoon early evening shift would answer questions for me, and if I were really screwed up trying to find a consignee he would stay on the Cell phone and...

Mr. Bricker, it may be true smaller carriers have a better chance to remember who a driver is, but it seems to me, even though I no nothing about Computers that any Company large or small could/should have a Program that a Dispatcher could type O/O Truck # in and it would immediately show...

    expediting

I don't believe you will average 400 miles day. I think most will want you to drive somewhere around 2/3rds of each Month. Which would be 8,400 miles on a 21 day month. Although I expect you will get Recruiters who will not tell you so. When I inquired at Panther asking if 1500 miles a week was...

    Unfrickinbelivable

I left Panther II in December 2007 at that time the mileage, according to dispatch was from the shipper, along with what ever the FSC was. I found out from my very first run I was almost always driving more miles then I was paid for whether I followed their directions or used my own Atlas. near...

looking at becoming O/O, what about Dogs ?

I have two dogs that travel with me. Never had a problem, Dispatch would tell me in Advance if they wanted me to keep them in the truck while on certain Consignee's Property. If we had been in the Truck for awhile I would stop just outside the gate, let them run then go on in.
