While it is 2017 we are dealing with the tax 2016. According to an E-mail from Panther, actually the name of the sender was "root". I almost dismissed this E-mail as spam. Anywho, there is a new IRS rule about 1099s that apply to us. I will start a new thread concerning this rule.

I just got a 300 mile load picking up at 14:00 and delivers tomorrow at 09:00. These tight schedules are killing me.

I got the rare weekend load last night. Picked up at 22:30. Its a 2 stopper going 501 miles. Last stop delivers tonight at 23:30. I should be able to make that.

I guess it depends on the contract between the the driver and fleet owner. If the driver pays for fuel they will probably be spending more on that than the schmuck commuting to a regular job. It's more expensive to live on the road than at home. Waiting two weeks for a paycheck is standard...

I believe it may have been planned well but the execution was problematic. The idea was to enact the "ban" without prior warning to prevent a crush of people from trying to enter the country. Short notice to TSA and other security people, coupled with them dealing with airport protesters...

Quality flashlight. Sub-zero rated sleeping bag and something to put it on, i.e. bed, cot, air mattress, hammock etc. Pillows are nice. I like pillows. At least a days worth of food and water. A basic tool kit, screw drivers, pliers, hammer, adjustable wrench and duct tape.

Kellyanne had a great comment near the end: "Biased (media) coverage is easy to detect. Incomplete coverage is impossible to detect." Maybe not impossible, but certainly difficult. Especially if your source for news is very limited.
