    2008 Express 3500 LOADED

Thanks for remembering the "Orange Cones". LOL. I haven't seen an Express with these features yet, but from the GM build sheets it looks as though outside temp and compass are placed in an overhead console when you order it without windows. I really believe that the integrated turn signals in...

    2008 Express 3500 LOADED

I had never seen an Express van with a 6 way power seat, outside temp gauge, compass, power-heated mirrors with integrated turn signals, quad head lamps, etc. until I began to spec out this cargo van. Moreover, I wanted no side door or rear door glass and those were hard to find in stock...

    Airtabs on a van?

Terry, I am not good with tools; therefore, I need to have a sunroof jobber cut the hole for me. Can I assume that all QC's have the same diameter? Could I cut hole, mount the vent and gasket prior to taking it to the carrier for installing the QC? Again, thank you for your time in...

Chevy Express 3500 - Locking Differential

Great answers! My only reservation is based upon previous driving experiences with cars that had "Positive Traction". When you accelerated forcefully, and both wheels were locked, the car would fishtail. The same car without PT would only have one of the wheels slip. As I never goosed the...

Chevy Express 3500 - Locking Differential

GM techs tell me that their locking differential system has a clutch pack that locks the differential when one of the wheels breaks traction or senses slippage. I guess I can understand the advantage if I were pulling a heavy boat up a wet boat ramp, but considering my driving style (slow and...

    oil changes

As it applies to cargo vans: Oil it the least expensive maintenance item on my checklist. Why not forego the cost of an engine oil analysis and simply change the oil on a 5000 mile cycle for non-synthetic and 10000 miles for synthetic.

    Airtabs on a van?

It just seems that the QC is taller than I am picturing in my mind and I wondered if it protruded below the roof line enough to decrease the 48x48x48 load requirement? PS. One of the other drawbacks to the swing side doors is trying to exit them in the morning when you are still drifty after...

    Airtabs on a van?

Terry, If you ever get the opportunity the take a picture of the bracket from inside the van it would be greatly appreciated. I am in the process of incorporating some ideas into a replacement van. PS. We once discussed the grease zerks on the side door hinges. I saw a 3500 Express Cargo Van...

    Cargo Van Stuff
