2008 Express 3500 LOADED

I had never seen an Express van with a 6 way power seat, outside temp gauge, compass, power-heated mirrors with integrated turn signals, quad head lamps, etc. until I began to spec out this cargo van.

Moreover, I wanted no side door or rear door glass and those were hard to find in stock inventories.

hey david I got all thoughs options on my 06 except for the remote keyless entry & the sliding side door. I love all the goodies by the way in 06 when I ordered this truck to get the compass and temp gauge in the rearview, you had to have glass in the back doors I hope they changed this. I don't care for glass on the back door or on the barn doors for that matter, glad to see your getting back into it and hope to see you and your orange cones at a truckstop soon}>

That sounds like a very nice and very comfortable van. All you need now is the kitchen sink. :+

David, is the "Driver Information Center" located in an overhead console between the sun visors? Does it show mpg, trip miles, miles to service and good stuff like that along with the compass and temp gauge?

Thanks for remembering the "Orange Cones". LOL.

I haven't seen an Express with these features yet, but from the GM build sheets it looks as though outside temp and compass are placed in an overhead console when you order it without windows.

I really believe that the integrated turn signals in the outside mirrors should be an industry standard for all vehicles.

In my 2006 I had the Commercial Upfitter package that has the poly liner in the cargo area, headliner that reaches to rear door and a bulk head. I'll forego the bulk head this time as it takes up to much space and prohibits the seats from reclining, but after many nights of lying in my bunk and seeing my breath during the winter months, I realized that it would have been very easy to place insulation along the sidewalls and roof line before they put in the poly liner and headliner.

What do you folks think makes for efficient insulation: foam board, fiberglass with a paper backing,Reflectix, etc? I am looking for cost effectiveness, ease of installtion and assurance that the insulation will stay in place once it is covered by the poly liner.

ah, overhead console that makes sense, since there is no need for a rearview if there is no back glass, as for insulation I went with 2 layers of that silver stuff with the bubbles in the middle and a espar heater. The 2 layers keep me warm down to about 30 degrees for about 10 hours without the espar running, but somehow I always find myself in MN,ND,SD or WI. when it is like -25 and i got to run the van and or espar, lucky me I guess!! I used 1" foam board with foil backing and cover it with 4 x 8 sheets of flexible vinyl shower wall panels. Great Stuff foeam in a can to fill in gaps an posts.

I have a crawl through bulkhead about 1 1/2" thick that I insulated with the automotive insulation that was glued to the back of the vinyl mat that was in the cargo area. I used it mostly for sound proofing, but it does have some R-value.
