    820th RED HORSE Squadron

Okay, this makes more sense now that I read your blog. I was wondering how you stumbled upon this and then got invited? Sounds like a good event. eb

truckers and their percentage of body fat

cap and trade I think it would be a good idea for them to come up with a cap to how high a driver's body fat index is. Then they allow drivers that are below the cap to sell credits for the amount they are under to drivers who are over. eb

    Not Busy??

i'm almost busy. How does freight look now compared to a month ago? I just started running in the last month, so I have nothing to compare the current freight with. I did follow the forum all winter, but I didn't have first hand experience to compare it to. It does look like I'm getting more...

    holiday weekend

My perfectly planned weekend ended up with a load planted right in the middle of it. Delivery within 13 miles of my Dallas parking spot. So what do I call a better-than-perfectly-planned weekend? Took some contortions to make it work on my end, but couldn't ask for more from the people at hq...

    Re: Multiple memberships

One username is all anyone needs. If someone is in such a big broo-ha-ha with their carrier isn't it a little late for them to try seeking protection under a secret identity? A secret identity is only going to work for someone who is going to premeditatively conduct covert warfare against...

    new digital q.c

Back to this relatively old topic. I've come to realize that this portable unit I have in the vehicle is a cell phone model. At least that's what it appears. I can park inside and under places and not lose the signal which is nice when looking for shade. I can also put the antenna under my...

    holiday weekend

You could be stranded in worse places if not the farthest one out. This vehicle is going to stay available for work until everything shuts down then make its way to Dallas via St Louis for vehicle service. I'm being interviewed by someone working on their doctoral thesis on Monday. Early in...

    I'm Bored: part 2.

i'm not I don't get bored, but if I have the time I try to find an art museum. They're always air conditioned. I have membership at one museum, and I use their reciprocal membership to save on admission to other museums across the country. One of the main benefits of being in a van is the...

Shades of Things to come to the Trucking Industry??

I thought we were already taken over by the government. I tell people that if they want to know what it is like to live in a police state to become a truck driver. I wonder at what point will the government be in violation of their own anti-trust laws? eb

    Meet The EO Office Staff

Janitorial, hah. I always like a good organizational chart. Good to know what makes the machine work. I figured I'd wait until I was in the area and come looking for my bumper sticker in person. Save some please. eb

    Oh My great Sprinter

I'm working on the theory that the sprinter makes an excellent owner-operator/single driver vehicle (including a team that is dedicated to the vehicle). It's all about TLC and non-fleet style driving. Fleet vehicles need to be built like tanks. The sprinter is more like a fine instrument. eb

    may roll call

cd, Sounds like you've had a pretty decent couple weeks. Compared to you I'm only running fairly well, but each week gets a little better. I still feel like I'm flying blind--growing pains I guess. eb

    may roll call

I delivered a load in Toledo, early this a.m. Haven't decided if I'll hang out in the area. I left a stack of loose log book forms in the bolt HQ drivers lounge if anyone wants them. They're free. eb

    as the belt tightens

If you are going to use your hitch then why not weld an attachment that fits in the hitch receiver. You'll get more miles on the grill, and you can just back the grill over the fire when it's dinner time. eb

    little rock/memphis

Yes, it's nice to have access to data. I am curious to see what sort of system the company comes up with. Wonder if they're sitting back to see what panther comes up with. I got fairly proficient at their system of the '07 vintage, but then they went and changed it, then they went and changed...

    is anybody out there??

I asked the question about whether we could subscribe to a forum like we can do for a thread. It seems it would be easier that way to keep track of what is going on way down here in the carrier subforums. eb

    Driving Etiquitte

If you do stay in the left lane it is a good idea to make use of a cb too. Everyone isn't going to be comfortable passing on your right if they aren't sure what you're doing. Yes, this is a good place for this kind of discussion, because it helps people to see how each other is thinking...
