    Landstar and Qualcomm

I just saw a full page add in Heavy Duty trucking magazine that has Verizon offering GPS tracking and communications through their cell phones. FEDEX CC has been testing this for some time with a few contractors that have a GPS enabled phone.

    Fed Ex Custom Critical

There is no free lunch. W/Glove pays more but you do EARN it. At one time it took 6-12 months experience with a good track record to get into W/Glove.Sadly that requirement is no longer mandatory. I have met W/G drivers who are basically clueless as too what is required and have zero experience...

    PANTHER II

This doesn't relate to Panther but Landstar Express America agents do their own dispatching and rumor is that many of them own their own trucks. I am sure that some consideration (LOL) is given to their own trucks over another unit.

    Truckstops-81/85/95

I don't know how it is now but the boys use to openly sell drugs out of the front parking lot at the Atlanta Petro. They would use spotters who would hang out up the street and at the exit off I 285 to watch out for the police. I agree about Wico's being good spots. The only one I ever got poed...

    ALUMIBUNK SERVICE OR LACK THEREOF

Newspapers also usually have a local advocate column that assigns a reporter to handle complaints. Don't forget the old Better Business Bureau of the area that your truck was delivered to you. What disturbs me about A Bunk is the lack of support after the truck is delivered. I would like to...

    Building the ultimate expediter

Dave makes a very good point. When first starting out stay with a relatively standard expediting truck. Then after you know the industry and know your on the road needs,go from there. When you decide to design and have several builders involved on a custom vehicle be prepared for whatever can go...

    Runing I-70 across CO

Other then a long uphill climb out of Denver it is a pleasant run. Usual curves here and there but nothing you can't handle. Now I 70 in Utah has some long miles between exits, make sure you have plenty of fuel.. Now running it in the winter is another story.
