    Temperatue Control Units

FDXCC requires a wooden floor so that blocking on explosive loads can be nailed into the floor. However many A/E facilities will not load explosives into a reefer unit,or if they do they require the fuel line to the reefer unit disconnected and the unit run until it stops. This is to prevent...

A spare engine and transmission is not a bad idea, also 4 extra tires and a air compressor to inflate them. Extra glass for the windows in case one breaks, you get the idea.. ONLY KIDDING PROF. Actually a spare alternator is worth while to carry. When your alternator goes out and you pull into...

    fuel prices

I thought heavy diesel used on ships and diesel fuel for trucks plus home heating oil was #1/2 on the distalation process, but I am not an refinery guy. The lighter fuels such as gasoline, kerosene, jet fuel and so on are easier to extract. ??any oil guys out here??

Tippin my hat to Flyin J

I frequently take the "how did we do card" and fill it out for a positive experience. You mail it in,forget about it and sometimes 3-4 weeks later you might get a reply with a appreciation certificate. Loves gives $10.00,Bob Evans gives a free meal.

Good and Bad in this business

Last Sunday I cleaned out all of my records from the Roberts Express days and it really opened my eyes. Back in the late 80's and 90's the freight charges were somewhat better then today. Yet expenses were so much less. In 1993 Flying J was selling fuel for $1.01 per gallon, labor charges at the...

    HOME TRUCK PARKING

I pay to park in a private lot that RV's and boats park at.It locked, fenced in and lit at night. It is about 1.5 miles from my house, can easily walk or ride a bike to the truck. I hate too pay but it's cheaper then being towed out of a public lot.

    Advice

While A Team claims to have saved more money then at any other time in his life, one needs to look at what life style he gave up to become a paid tourist. I believe he sold all of his possesions including his house so his daily living expenses have shrunk which is why he could save more. I am not...
