    Respect...

Haha, Broom... way to shmooze :7 I agree to a large extent to what everyone is saying here. But I also respect a great deal of hearsay on EO, coming from drivers who never worked for certain companies. I heard complaints that TryHours didn't pay 100% of their FSC, and I confronted the...

The good, the bad, and the ugly.

Murkur, I hafta disagree with your logic on that one. I too used to think 100% would make them give you junk, but I've gotten more as a team with a 60% approval. We don't turn down reasonable runs... a 300 mile is fine n dandy with limited dh. We'll take the occasional mini, but won't dh to bfe...

    A Positive Note

I had the same experience when I left them. Panther removed their equipment for me and boxed it up, and we happened to drive by Express-1 while on a load. Larry Pickles was extatic that I brought the qualcomm in and told me he wished me the best. They do make you feel like family there, I only...

met my first panther 2 driver

You don't have to. Just study the cdl book and call a local testing place. It cost my co-driver $100 to get approved for his cdl, and I taught him myself.

    Layover after a NYC run...

We're a team, Dave :) I'm not knocking CT, cause we did get two runs outta there. Just curious as to where others would sit. Dispatch offered Jamaica Queens <sn>, but I knew Hartford was better from what you said before. I'd do it again for the kind of run we got outta there. Besides... if...

    Layover after a NYC run...

Where are some good places to layover after going to NYC? I heard Hartford was great, but after being told by dispatch that they avg 4 runs a day, we sat 2 days. I would've left after 1, but to where? We ended up getting a dry run, then a run to AR, so it ended up well. Where would you layover...

    Fifteen minutes of fame.

When I say research, I mean find out the info they don't give you. For example, when we got a load going to Lawrence, NY, I checked the atlas to make sure it wasn't on Long Island. Sure enough it was. Check out all the info to know what you're getting into. If not, you may be taking a mini from...

    Fifteen minutes of fame.

That was me who said it. As Leo said, it is about accepting a load from Panther. I said to use the 15 min to research the load and make sure you know what you're getting into. One example is that I jumped on a load before I knew there was no surcharge. I ran almost 200 miles trying to find this...

    Attn: Panther II drivers

We've had extremely good luck with Sprint. Free roaming was only $5, and Canada is .30/min. From what I've heard from other drivers, they have the best reception too. We rarely lose a signal.

Newbie FedEx driver gotz sum Q's

Our accountant told us that to be safe, hold 30% of earnings after cost. For you cost should be easy... $41/day for food, your fuel reciepts (if you're going that way), and any other truck related reciepts that you agreed to pay.

    $ Savings Ideas

One way I save money is by getting the breakfast buffet if it's good. They only cost 6.50 at TA, and fill me up till dinner. Another way is to carry cash for the whole trip. No ATM fees, or higher prices at the pump for credit. I haven't built up to that yet, but I plan on doing it.

I Need Some Kind Of Help. Not Trucking Related

I agree... the head bank dude should've had a red light go off as soon as he saw LAGOS, NIGERIA. Way too many money scams have come from there. Everytime we get one, we forward it to the Secret Service or FBI. Good luck on getting your money back, but I doubt they can do anything in Nigeria.

Is this a company owned site?

Remus... I can tell you that most dispatchers at P2 do acknowledge 1st in 1st out, but there are some that don't. I've been passed up in Nashville for a couple of loads because of favoritism, even though my acceptance rating was 90+ at the time. Next time I went to Nashville, I turned down 5...

    Where's the Money???

Hey Race... I want to get a general concensus before rocking the boat at P2. As I've said in another post in which I supported them, I think they're a great income maker if you can get past the dispatchers LOL. But isn't it reasonable to ask our "business partners" for a raise? They gripe about...

    Where's the Money???

Orientations for Express-1 and Panther were similar in one big aspect... both said they had record breaking years last year, and expect the same this year. Years ago both had to lower rates in order to keep competative. Now that they're both making buku bucks again, where's our cut? This is...

    Panther II experiences

Expectations with P2?: "Expect to wait 4 to 6 weeks for your first pay." We didn't have to wait that long for pay, though I found out that everything I send in by Friday gets paid in two weeks. "Expect to have more than a few heated exchanges with inexperienced dispatchers." Yep... I...

40% on delivery is an advance ???

I have a good reason as to why Panther keeps the advance till after the run is over. What if the run ends up having to swap? For example, if the truck breaks down 300 miles into a 2000 mile run, Panther would give the first truck 40% of his 300 mile run. It makes sense... but it's also a pain if...

Need some help with becoming an O/O

Check out threads about TST. They do alot of Canada/US runs and returns. My dad's neighbors run for them out of the Detroit area, and they say they hardly sit. There are also numerous companies out of the Toronto area that run the horseshoe. The right company will keep you busy.

    Panther II experiences

I found their orientation to be somewhat professional. It was laid-back, though the info was very informative. However, I had a team sitting next to me who got phonecalls every few minutes and were very loud when on the phone. They were only told once to take it to the breakroom. I'm sure it...

My former employer WILL NOT pay me my back wages!!

RE: My former employer WILL NOT pay me my back wag While you're trying to get the money from him, see about putting a lien on his house and truck(s). He'll know you mean business when he tries selling his truck or getting a mortgage on his house. It also plays games with his credit rating, I...
