    Truckstop gouging

    I heard about that stuff... it also repels lot lizards and neutralizes truck stop piss smell. They sold me... but I'm gonna hold out till they get cheese and chili for their hot dogs. :P

    ...fish flies!

    That's ok... at least we don't have an invasion of Buckeyes in Michigan. I hear they're really hard to get off your windshield if they don't wear their helmets ;) :7 :7 :7 :7 :7

    A little venting and a real need

    I got a transmission change in Feb, and it started chattering almost immediately. I told them about it, they adjusted it, but it came back. Could it be they damaged the clutch putting it in? Cause I really didn't have a chance to screw it up over a day or so.

    Summer Auto Plant Shut down

    I was told at orientation that the big 3 stagger their vacation times over a month. I think I would rather have two bad weeks, and prepare for them by taking a vacation, than have 4 weeks of so-so freight. Fortunately for me, and others who don't mess with automotive, July will be as busy as it...

    PANTHER II

    Some of their employees do have trucks. I know of one guy who owns MANY trucks and has an office in the PII building with his own extension. Whether he's an employee, I don't know. But he runs his business out of their office.

    New Driver here with some questions please

    Depends on which company you go with, as far as how much you'll need. Some, like Tri-state, have you pay for your drug screen. I'm not sure about advances with them though. Panther doesn't charge up front for anything, but you'll hafta take a physical under their doctors. As far as having money...

    New Driver here with some questions please

    Expedite and OTR are two completely different animals. In expediting, we're expected to go from point A to point B straight thru, usually at a 50mph average. There are exceptions, such as weekend runs, but it's not the "four days to get it there" that OTR tends to be. We do alot of night...

    Drip, Drip, Drip

    Freightliner screwed up my drainplug by using an airgun. Apparently that's a common reason for having to replace the plugs. From now on, I ask the guy servicing to use just a wrench, so I don't go through that again.

    WEEK ONE WITH PANTHER

    The Tiger tank they bought would make an awesome expediter... especially for Chicago traffic :7

    Truck purchase horror story

    Nothing went wrong for me, other than the owner being less than honest. We believe he planned this from the start. Nothing would've been worse than going the whole two years and finding out the truck is only half paid off. Panther is a stellar company. Just wish things were different. I had...

    Truck purchase horror story

    I'm posting this to warn everyone who's purchasing or lease-purchasing from an owner. What I've gone through could've been alot worse, but losing money is never fun. Last September I made an agreement to buy my FL-106 from someone who posted an ad on EO. I agreed to pay $1750/month for two...

    Opportunity Requires Decision, Please Advise

    If you hafta pay insurance and repairs out of your 60%, you're making a mistake. The dream of owning your own truck can quickly turn to a nightmare when you hafta replace something, such as a $5000 transmission. 60/40 is a basic split with the 60 paying fuel (and in some cases tolls). One...

    Flying J heated fuel .

    Heated fuel or not, at least they are 6-10 cents cheaper than TAs that don't advertise their price on the street. So we have Js who heat their fuel, Pilot who's higher unless there's another stop on their exit, and TA who scalps the ignorant. What do we have left? I hafta admit I like Love's...

    Acquisition of Panther II

    I don't have a choice in the merger? I sure as heck do! I could choose not to be part of the merger and head out for better ventures. :D

    Greiger Motors AAAA++++++ Panther2 AAAAA++++++

    RE: Greiger Motors AAAA++++++ Panther2 AAAAA++++ Now wait a minute, guys!!! No one on the Seahawks have gone to prison! I do hate to see Koren Robinson go though. But I like their reciever pickups in the off season. Pathon and Jerivisious <sp> have good hands. Maybe no more games lost cause...

    Greiger Motors AAAA++++++ Panther2 AAAAA++++++

    RE: Greiger Motors AAAA++++++ Panther2 AAAAA++++ You should slow your butt down and see how you do with one sprinter before you put another on. I hope you've been reading ALL the posts... INCLUDING the ones that tell how van freight is as slow as molasses in January!!! :o

    Acquisition of Panther II

    True, this acquisition could be good for Panther. But the way I see it, P2 is the closest thing to perfection in expediting, and if it ain't broke... All we need are know-it-alls fudging with a system they don't know about. I hope they let Sokolowski continue to run the show.

    Acquisition of Panther II

    Reading the article on the front page about Panther's take-over has me a bit worried. I was thinking this very thing the other day and how I would react. Fact is, it has happened and I don't know what to think. The article paints a rosey picture of all the good things to come for Panther...
