Is your company really smart? Are you?

Well for starters, 2800 lbs in a Sprinter is too much so I am turning that load down, it is truck work....not van work. The whole notion of 3000 lbs in a van is wrong, anything over 1 ton belongs in a truck. Leo, your post makes a lot of sense but the problem is there always seems to be someone...

van tire pressure.. stock or modify??

70 front/80 rear, no nitro. Check my air pressures weekly (usually bang on) with a good quality dial type gauge (those stem type ones get out of whack to easily, drop em once and they are out). I rotate when there is 3/32 difference between any tire. Running Michelins I will get 200,000 no...

    Interesting Loads

Very cool Jack! Just think what it would have paid if you got to take it to it's final spot. That's what, 394,000 miles or something? Moot will know, he's from there I think.

    Winter IS HERE!

Talking about winter or at the very least telling of its arrival (even in US Siberia) should be a code of conduct violation. Make it stop Lawrence!!

    12 Volt Electric Blanket

Us shorties get to sleep sideways in the van and stretch out. You must get cold having to leave the side door open for your legs. How do you deal with the frostbite on your feet and calves?

    12 Volt Electric Blanket

I blame Jack for getting me hooked on Panera Bread. Now I want that warm bowl of soup feeling all the time. My Artic Breeze A/C system has a heater in it that If I run the genset it will run all night. I was just thinking maybe the blanket/mattress pad might be able to get me thru the night...

    Cargo Van or Box Truck

It would depend on the carrier. IF..they have a good FSC program and IF...they will sell the extra space and pay you for it then maybe a box truck. If you are going to run with any of the major carriers I would stick to a van.

    How far from home?

Monday to Friday I will generally wait it out anywhere unless I am in Ontario, then I head home right away as the DH pay for Toronto, Hamilton or Kitchener is the same (Kitch being home). On the weekends....150-200 miles. Depends on where I am and if I think the prospects are, if I can get home...

    Extranet problems

There is indeed an IT dept. The occupy the 3rd floor at the palace in Green. Considering that FedEx develops its own software and does not buy anything "off the shelf" my guess is the dept is quite sizable. As for talking to them directly? IT people don't know how to communicate with humans as...

    Staying warm this winter?

I use a bike chain and lock to secure mine to a spoke in my rims. Nobody will steal it (unless they REALLY want it) and I can never leave it behind!
