Was this an original MB tensioner? Early in my van's life I had an aftermarket tensioner quit at about 40k miles after I installed it so I decided to use only genuine parts since then. No problems any more.

Not a million yet, but my 2004 Sprinter has 721k on the original engine and transmission. When I bought it, the salesman said that i should get 600k easily. So my plan was to replace it when i reached 600k. What i drive it past 600k is just icing on the cake. We shall see how many miles i can...

I don't buy into all the hype of synthetic oils. My 1991 Honda Accord still runs at 300k+ miles with nothing else but cheap SuperTech regular oil. My sprinter is at 700k+ on good old dino oil. The only car I use synthetic oil in is my 2011 VW Jetta TDI because there is no low ash DPF friendly...
