Where do you fuel that 07 truck?

GMC, Ford, Isuzu, Hino etc. all have 2007 trucks available now, but they are still using the 06 engines. I would still consider buying one of these. Freightliner has fields full of 2006 trucks so that is why they are waiting to bring the 2007's out. Same for Mack, Volvo and the other biggies...

OK! Great idea. I am on the right in the front row. Yep! The old guy who is kneeling (I can't stand up for very long at my age). LOL.... I have on a black Tri State shirt and cap. Thank you to everyone for being so polite and friendly.

OIL PRICES WILL FALL, JUST HOLD ON

Oil prices recently reached a record-high of over $75 a barrel. But I don't think it'll stay there. Saudi Arabia’s oil minister Ali al-Naimi is warning that oil price hikes and global oil demand could soon disappear. In fact, he is also warning that oil prices could easily “plummet†in...

    FSC covering fuel prices?

Let's not even go there by saying we have to pay for a portion of the fuel costs! Hush!!! Pleeeaaaseeee! Let's define surcharge: 1. An additional sum added to the usual amount or cost. 2. An overcharge, especially when unlawful. Let's define surcharging: 1. To charge (a person) an...

An Other way of looking at it

I agree! I am ALWAYS more discerning when I am at home. As I live in a decent freight area that obvioussly has some bearing on my decisions, but I can always live a lot cheaper at home than on the road. That also has some bearing on my decision to head for home on Friday night or Saturday...

Where do you fuel that 07 truck?

You don't. It just sits in the driveway until the distributors change over to ultra low sulfur fuel. Didn't the friendly salesperson tell you that when you bought that 2007?

    Wild parrots in Chicago?

We have a Monk Parrot, commonly known as a Quaker. These are very hardy birds and they can adapt to cold climates. They can also damage crops if they colonize in a particular area; hence, it is a state law that their wings be clipped to prevent escape. Now, as we all know, not everybody obeys...

    Have you seen this expediter?

Hey Geo, I hope to get down that way. I used to live in Buckroe Beach. Back then I delivered milk for Hampton Heights Dairy and my route was in Williamsburg.

    Have you seen this expediter?

I have a 2006 Chevrolet 3500 Ext WB Cargo Van with Duramax Diesel and OOIDA emblems on the doors. My rear glass windows have decals that say, "HEAVY LOAD - STAY BACK" I drive below the posted speed limit so wave to me when you pass. LOL The van is white with red Tri State logos and the unit...

    putting things into perspective

Ditto! Thank you for your informative post. Out of the mouths of two witnesses...it is a factual representation of how those who serve in harm's way truthfully feel about their roles. It is only the "Arm Chair" correspondents who are feed the daily dribble of liberal misinformation that...

    GAS VS DIESEL

Greg, I believe any diesel can stand some idle time, but the wear factors on the mechanical components and the breakdown of the engine oil are markedly increased with idle time. I have a freind who has the same van as mine but his is a gasser. We talk all the time and he told me yesterday that...

    Express-1

Ditto Scott is a decent guy. I trust him and enjoyed working with him while at Express-1. Dispatchers are friendly and treat you fairly. Tom Turner at the Swanton location is excellent at working with Fleet Owners. I would still be there, but I needed a carrier with a base of operations in...

    TRI-STATE

I contracted with two other carriers before getting the opportunity to run with Tri State. I literally called and emailed them everyday to let them know that I wanted to contract with them. Back in May they said they had a freeze on vans until September, but when they had an immediate need for a...

    GAS VS DIESEL

Greg, It does not have an hour meter. I wish all vehicles had one. I am just concerned about folks who buy used vans. As far as the hot weather, I have screens that slip over the doors so I can lower the windows. I then sleep with my head up between the seats so I can take advantage of the...

I believe your screen name "Road To Ruin" speaks for itself. Sorry life has made you so bitter. We live in the most prosperous and safe nation on the planet. You might ask yourself why. I am not waving anything, but I will use the historical aspects of the Bible as documentaion. The King...

    GAS VS DIESEL

First, I wouldn't idle any engine overnight! I have a Duramax Diesel in my Chevy 3500 and I only idle it for a few minutes to allow the turbo to cool before I shut it off. Idle time means wear time! You might buy a used van that has 50,000 on the odometer, but it could have another 50,000...

TWISTED IDEOLOGY?????????????????? Oh yes, surely you must be talking about a culture that is bent on destroying everyone that does believe as they do. Over 4000 years ago it was written: Gen 16:11, 12 "And the angel of the LORD said unto her, Behold, thou art with child, and shalt bear a son...
