    Household Movers Guide Rates

It is my understanding that Household Mover Tables were based upon railroad mileages. At the time they were established only the railroads had accurate records of point to point distances. Guess what? I have a hard time keep my van on the railroad tracks to make my loaded miles come out...

    THE BEST FOOD IN INDIANA?????

TEX-MEX or not, the review centered on portion size, service and price. Garcia's is grossly over-priced and the service is poor at best. The flavor was fair, but the other aspects sorely diminish my rating of this location. Moreover, they are closed 4 months out of the year! And they don't...

    THE BEST FOOD IN INDIANA?????

Dear Friends, It is not my desire to contend with anyone, but for those who rave about the food at Garcia's in Columbus, IN...well I went there for lunch today. First, I immediately noticed that the majority of the employees were local Hoosiers! Hey, if it's Mexican then the employees should...

    info on Hino trucks

The Hino is not only assembled here in the U.S., which translates into jobs for Americans, but many of its components are made by U.S. companies: Allison, Arvin Meritor, Dana, Hendrickson, Eaton, Donaldson, Accuride, TRW, Bridgestone. It's called FREE TRADE. We have Caterpillar plants in China...

    Best Expediting truck every Built

Wow! Great design concepts. I look forward to seeing it on the road. At this present time I am not in a position to afford myself such luxury, but when I am, insurance will not be a consideration. Like a wise old sage once said, "If you have to ask the price...you can't afford to buy it."...

    My first D.O.T. Inspection....not good

If you did not witness the conversation then your response is merely subjective in nature. I was at a photo shoot inside of a church's fellowship hall and I told somebody's young child to close the cabinet door beneath the sink and stay away from there. The boy's mother only heard the "Stay...

I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine. As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep. And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold...

    D.O.T. physical

Make sure whomever does the physical uses the DOT LONG FORM. Some smaller clinics and family physicians will use the old DOT forms they have stuck back in some filing cabinet or they might use a standard sports physical form. Neither of which works for DOT purposes.

OIL PRICES WILL FALL, JUST HOLD ON

The nice folks across the pond in the U.K. are paying $8.00+ per gallon and they have not yet revolted. That $2.73 gallon special here in the U.S. sounds pretty good to me. Check please! PS. If it rebounds, and it may, I'll have to believe that "Free Market" economics are once again keeping...

    panther dead zones

Excellent post! I am a HUGE believer of QC map directions. A previous carrier I contracted with had those turn by turn with milage directions. That software is not expensive and it well worth the minimal investment. Every carrier should incorporate it into their system as the benefits far...

OIL PRICES WILL FALL, JUST HOLD ON

I checked my fuel receipts from The Flying J in Walton, KY. Three weeks ago I paid $2.98 a gallon. Today I paid $2.73 a gallon. I am not different than any other driver. If I can keep my expenses down, my bottom line increases. A 25 cent per gallon drop in fuel costs certainly helps! It has...

OIL PRICES WILL FALL, JUST HOLD ON

Cool. Let's build a new location for the executive, judicial and legislative branches to conduct the business of government. Nothing fancy just adequate structures in which to conduct business. I would choose the geographical center of the US. That would make travel times more equitable. Oh...

OIL PRICES WILL FALL, JUST HOLD ON

Garman, Don't try to bend my comments by taking them outside the text. Gomer Pyle was portrayed as kind of a goofy guy with little knowledge of how the world really works. Not the best qualified person to hold the office of president. I could have just as easily used two New Yorkers from...

OIL PRICES WILL FALL, JUST HOLD ON

Babs, Have you ever lived outside of the US? I lived in the Philippines. They have NO middle class. The same is true for all countries outside of the US and Europe. Be thankful you have one here. In the Philippines 70% of the population lives below the poverty level. They knew? Any good...

    Landstar Questions

There are a few carriers, very few, that would help with the cost to move. I mean with fuel hovering around $3.00/gal moving gets a little expensive. Some companies are pro-active and shoulder the burden as a business partner. And some companies work with their O/O's as business partners to...

OIL PRICES WILL FALL, JUST HOLD ON

FYI President Bush has more investments in a baseball team, tech companies and real estate than he has in oil. Of course, every other President has also had investments. Does that make them a part of the problem? If a person has worked their way up to the highest office in the land one would...

    Tell Me Why

I like him already! I thought may dad was the only guy who ever outlined the tools on the pegboard. He was an aircraft mechanic for 25 years. I think it is a miltary thing, but it taught my brother and I to respect property.

OIL PRICES WILL FALL, JUST HOLD ON

Garman, I am a driver that faces the same concerns as anyone else in this business. And there lies the crux! It is a business. I'd much rather be paying 99 cents/gal for fuel just like everyone else. Complaining and blaming does not solve the problem. You know, just like when dad yells at the...

    I really want to know!

Some restaurants, cafes, bread stores, etc do shut down the system when the store is closed. Hotels do not because they have guests who want to use the Internet 24/7. Some locations require a password to log on, but many do not. I pulled into a Super 8 near Marshalltown, Iowa and checked my...

OIL PRICES WILL FALL, JUST HOLD ON

Well, stop living from paycheck to paycheck. This is the land of opportunity. Start a second business, write a book, sell scrap metal, pick up pallets or invent something. That is what makes America so great! Every person in this country has the right to rise to their own level of...
