Looking for O/O 's who have lap tops in their cabs

RE: Looking for O/O 's who have lap tops in their I run a cargo van and have a laptop onboard. I use it mostly for maping. It is not connected to the Internet as I am home almost every night. Why not ask your questions here? I am sure you will get a variety of answers. -- Mike N

Yikes! I will never, ever (ok, maybe not ever ;) ) grumble about the DC beltway again! -- Mike N

New to the Forum, and some advice needed.

I would advise you to avoid that van. The diesel version is not a good thing for long life. If you do buy it expect to buy another van next year. If it is a 1 ton (eg 3500) it will likely have a GVW of 9600 pounds. The only 3500's with a higher factory GVW are the dual wheel cube models. -- Mike N

    Sprinter

The last F-450 *I* had was a '95 with a Steel 19' car carrier body. It was heavy especially loaded with 2 cars which it was most of the time. This truck got 13 MPG with a Power Stroke 7.3L. -- Mike N

    Big Truck Small Box

Big power is nice but at what point is it too much? Used to see guys at the terminal come in with their Petes sporting big Cats and talking trash about how fast their rig will go uphill into a headwind loaded to..... yadda, yadda yadda. Then you hear them complaining about how much that clutch...

    ALL-TYPES EXPEDITE

Well I don't know about the rest of you folks but I just clicked the link to their web site and the first thing I read is "We'll beat any competitors price." Something like that to me is a warning sign. Low rates = low pay. :( -- Mike N

    FECC

FECC sure does seem to be everywhere. I see a FECC truck on the road at least once almost every day. Yesterday I saw a big purple class 8 'white glove' rig on the DC beltway even. Is FECC *that* busy? -- Mike N

Some thoughts to brighten your weekend

    1. Now that food has replaced sex in my life, I can't even get into my own pants. 2. Marriage changes passion. Suddenly you're in bed with a relative. 3. I saw a woman wearing a sweat shirt with "Guess" on it. So I said "Implants?" She hit me. 4. I don't do drugs. I get the same...

Stumpy, Did you check at your local Dodge store? They also sell Sprinters as Dodge has discontinued the B van like OVM has and replaced them with the Sprinter. -- Mike N

    Sprinter

183K as of this morning. Still runs strong, great oil pressure, no noise or smoke. The biggest problems I have are brake issues. This van is just not stout enough for the hard use we put on our rides. Otherwise besides being small it has been a good little truck. -- Mike N

    Sprinter

That sounds like a lot of repair work there Gojack. Somehow I think even with the great fuel milage that Sprinter gets I will still be better off with a GM gasser. I'd rather pay a bit more for my fuel in small chunks than $1000 for a brake job.... -- Mike N

    Sprinter

I saw a truck load of those new cab/chassis rigs the other day on I695 in Baltimore. Different looking to be sure. Gojack, thanks for the info, it's about time somebody with lots of miles on a Sprinter popped in here. What repairs have you had done to your Sprinter so far? -- Mike N
