IMO they are like any other truck, They will last as long as you are willing to replace what ever wears out, or breaks. Untill it is no longer cost efficent to repair it, which could be a millon miles or more.
If its a U joint , With the van running hold the brake and shift from r to d and back again and,
listen if you here a clunk its a u joint. Run your hand around the tire and you should be able to feel wavy around the tread if you have a broken belt in your tire. jack up the tire and rotate...
Just my guess that after its all said and done you would be running your truck with all the responsibilities for less than $9 or $10 or less/ hour worked. I think it would take you 60 to 70 hours / week to do that kind of route. Who loads the truck?? and how far do you have to go to pick up the...
Just do the math, average 60 stops / day over a 10 hour day is 6 stops / hour or 1 every 10 minutes. If you can get to those stops every 10 minutes. Stopping that often and it would probly be city miles not Hwy, IMO you might get 8-10 Mpg. 200 Miles at 10 mpg is 20 galllons X 3.50/ gal= 70.00/...
Ive always crossed the fronts to the rear, and brought the rears straight forward , that way the tires hit all 4 corners. Last set of tires I got 170,000 miles on them. and I run 70psi in all 4. Rotated and balanced every 10,000 miles
My advice to you parents, would be to think about doing the trailor delvery thing. I have a retired Uncle and aunt that do that. They have done expedite also. With the trailors they can pick the area they want to go to, and the company only requires they to haul 2 loads every 3 months. No QC and...
Myself I would just bite the Bullit and DH the aprox 300mi to the Chicago area before the weekend lul. 6hr drive but you should get loaded, But thats just me.
Sure glad you didnt post that dirty joke, I would have been offended, Keep it clean like the language you here on loading Docks and Truck stops. Because we are PC on here. Glad I dodged those bad words ................LMAO
I guesss we could get all the non Smokers together and blow smoke in their faces or take a wizz in the parking lot, or say we know every thing there is to know about getting the best loads and watch the Fireworks .........................
Maybe everyone finally came to the conclusion that this is not Rocket Science. We pickup at point A and take it to point B. Wait for the next call and do it again. What is there to Argue about???
The bigger Picture is I guess I was looking for a good excuse to take the rest of the year off. Just the wrong place at the wrong time. Like someone else said you have to look at averages. And I averaged enough to justify talking the rest of the year off.
Over the last 7 days had the following load offers.
25dh-153 loaded
38dh-89 loaded
52dh-75 loaded
8dh-15 loaded
30dh-16 loaded
I think I might be better off taking the rest of the year off and try again in Jan.. Anyone else with the same problem??
