It's funny you should put it that way. It's quite the opposite. I'm not sure I can put this into words but I'll try. The payoff in a wager matters. It's not just a case of picking the right horse. A horse that has only a 20% chance of winning is a good bet when you can get 10 to 1 odds...

    Kokomo Bypass

I happened to be on the Three Rivers bypass too recently. Very nice! US-60 eastbound out of Three Rivers is now a good way to go when traveling towards the Detroit area. And since we're now talking nearby bypasses, US-24 between Fort Wayne and Toledo is complete. I did that one last Friday...

    Kokomo Bypass

I came through there about a month ago and it was a big improvement. There is an area still under construction just north of Indy that involves a detour but if I remember correctly, traffic flowed pretty well. I'd gladly go that way again.

Picture this. It's 11am and the Republican candidate (Ted Cruz?) is doing a little fund raising. Big business led by big oil are the ones he's counting on. He's got to deny global warming and talk up increased drilling for oil. At 2pm he's speaking at a rally attended by a wide range of...

    Obama guilty

I'm not trying to ignore you or your point. If you think Obama is a bad guy in that way I'm not about to argue. But I'm not a constitutional lawyer. Are you? I suppose I could find a liberal website that defends Obama and post that info. While I'm there I could dig up some dirt on Richard...

    Obama guilty

Understandable, but how else does one refer to big oil and the motivation of so many on the right to be climate change deniers? Big oil isn't an abstract notion. There are flesh and blood people that own and control those companies and it's only natural that the politically active Koch...

The phones are much better! :) Off the top of my head: The economy continues to heal. Fewer Americans are getting killed every day in misguided wars. We don't have "terror threat level orange" nonsense to put up with anymore. Remember that farce? Fascist tactics to keep a population off...

    They DRIVE among us...

It is surprising. I looked through some old bols and here's one that I hauled. I've got 94" clearance under my roll up door so it's not one of the bigger models. Wiese FG25N 9,350 lbs I also hauled a Toyota H25CT but I'm not sure of the weight. (no time for googling atm)

You're right. An economy in free fall does bring lower prices. :) But hey, while googling gas price history, I found something you guys might like.

We're better off in nearly every way compared to 2008. If Obama is dumber than dirt as you say, let's hope the next Prez is even dumber. Wait! Wait! Wait! Hold on a second. Logic error detected. W was our last President and he's the poster child for, well, you know. Your conclusion that...

    Blitz last week

The east-bound weigh station on I-30 just west of Little Rock was a beehive Thursday morning. I don't think I've ever seen so many trucks being inspected at once. Luckily they had the good sense to realize that my truck is beyond perfect and they'd just be wasting their time checking it...

Texas GOP endorses therapy for Gays

You might have to wait until they secede. :) Or at least until global warming turns the whole state into a dust bowl and they decide that being part of the UNITED States isn't such a bad deal after all.

    Hos calc (toy)

Here's an image of what it looks like. As you enter numbers in Col C, the calculated lines advance a line, which I think gives the feel of a perpetual calender. Whether that's good or bad is up to you. :)

I didn't "nail it" with this project but I haven't made any improvements in several months so, even though it isn't jump-for-joy something I can be proud of, it's as done as it's likely to be, at least until the improvement bug hits me. Column A is generated by the Edit->Fill->Series menu...

Tucker Carlson defends Truck Driver in Tracy Morgan crash

Not a day goes by that I don't worry about it. Not just falling asleep. Having an inattentive/distracted moment and bam, people are hurt (or worse) and you're behind bars. I was listening to a report on the radio the other day about a corporate owned prison in Idaho. It's so bad the inmates...

    They DRIVE among us...

Raises hand. Ooh, ooh, I know the answer to this one!!! Not that you're really looking for an answer but as someone who seems to be a magnet for straight trucks with weakish floors I know the answer. The small Toyota propane powered forklifts are around 7,800 lbs. Battery powered jobs are...

    Fatigued Driving

Really? We need to be awake out there? I've been doing it all wrong! Not your best post but that doesn't mean I didn't enjoy it. :)
