Mine had the same sticker. That's a bit less than 3000, especially when you consider the weight of the driver and whatever else is in there.

I had a 2007 long and tall, not a lot of added weight, and the payload was only around 2600 with the fuel full. Was the empty weight much lower on the older ones?

Where do they get that 3000 lb garbage? A 2500 has the same GVW as a 3/4 cargo van, so it has the same payload, which the last time I checked is not 3000 lbs.

I did learn something yesterday. We have a dock plate but it's not as wide as the back of the truck and it gets somewhat tricky getting the last couple skids on the end of the trailer when you can't maneuver over to the sides too easily because of the size of the dock plate. The side shifter...

Technically, if you're on a 70% contract, the carrier is paying you 70%, not charging you 30%. I know, semantics and all that. Just my two cents.

I personally think detention needs to be higher, not only for the driver, but high enough to be punitive so these shippers and consignees would feel the pinch when they waste a driver's time.
