    EEEK! Problems with Carrier....GULP

Thick is NOT good, thick IS sludge, black is ok, when the oil turns thick it loses its viscosticy (spelling) and can wreck the engine. Without changing the filters you leave the buildup of sludge in the old oil filter, not a good thing. The sludge is from not doing regular PM on the APU. Sludge...

    EEEK! Problems with Carrier....GULP

the oil filter is a spin on you can get at it by taking off the upper and lower diamond plate covers, you need to do it anyway to change the fuel filter. NAPA catties both filters. On the engine is a plate with the model number, write it down and give it to the counter guy. The engine is a...

    "D" Lock

Your right about ignoring the question, but I couldn't resist making the comments. We all have weak moments... I have quite a few.

    Speaking of White Glove.....

My wife and I have a code word for these drivers, we call them "salad eaters", we just use this term between ourselves, well we use to anyway before this post. We noticed that these large drivers would go up to the salad bar at the truck stop and load their plates with a little lettuse...

    "D" Lock

My screen name is not Mr. Tater Head. I didn't bash you or your name, please don't do it to me. As for the locks not being covered in orientation or in the binder, you are right. IT IS SOMETHING YOU LEARN WITH EXPERIENCE, at FECC which you don't have. I believe you just made the whole...

    "D" Lock

If you had any experience with FECC before you went into WG you would know what the locks are. That being said, as you liked to say in another post, call fedex and ask them.

    Speaking of White Glove.....

I quess the rules change for the large fleets, like the red KW's, who made deals with FECC so they can put WG equiped trucks right into WG with their new drivers without having to wait for an opening or go on the WG list. I wonder if they are letting the red KW's and other fleets trucks in WG...

Preferential Treatment for Expediter Services . . .

I agree with you Linda, and I also agree with you Theresa, some of the WG trucks would never have passed inspection to be allowed in WG, the same goes for some all ready in WG.

Preferential Treatment for Expediter Services . . .

It isn't shame on me, my wife and i have been in WG for almost 8 years and own a WG T-Val unit. Another thing is most if not all of the O/O's waiting on the list to get into WG own their WG ready trucks. Why should you jump ahead of them? You are not more qualified, probably less qualified...

Preferential Treatment for Expediter Services . . .

That IS preferential treatment. When you jump over a truck that has the same equipment and stats and has been with the carrier just as long and have been on a list waiting to get into white glove and a Johnny come lately, new to the carrier goes to orentation and gets into WG ahead of the team...

    T300 Gearing Stinks

I've always liked the Michelin over the Bridgestone. gearing between the tranny and rearend is everthing. Most of the expediter straight trucks are streached unless custom ordered from the factory. I never liked class 7 trucks for expediting, especially with a team. I owned two class...

Preferential Treatment for Expediter Services . . .

I have heard from several contractors/drivers that ES get special treatment when it comes to loads. They have said that they were at same truck stop with ES trucks and had more dwell time than the ES trucks but the load went to the ES truck. I haven't had this happen with our truck so maybe it's...

    A Thought about Speed Limiters

No you can't be exempt, but you don't have to run in th U.S. if you don't like the rules and regulations/

    A Thought about Speed Limiters

I'm not getting all rankled Turtle. All these posts on the subject is food for thought. personally, I won't have my ecm plugged into by antone but a authorized repair shop while while my engine is under warranty. I don't care if the odds are a trillion to one, there is still the one hanging out...

    A Thought about Speed Limiters

Nope not much of a risk taker since my tour of duty in Vietnam and my 25 years as a professional firefighter.

    A Thought about Speed Limiters

I shouldn't have to hide any software or cables, and thus break Canadian laws. I know my carrier will not allow us to break Canadian laws, and won't defend us if we do. I shouldn't even have to buy them software and cables to do so. I will not break a foreign countries laws by carrying and...

    A Thought about Speed Limiters

Nope, all truck do not have to have their trucks set up. They want WG trucks to continue to go into Canada and have their ECM's set,but until they make provisions for and pay for my truck to be set and then reset I won't be one of them. And also pay for any damange done to my ECM by Canadian...

    A Thought about Speed Limiters

What if the code reader does damage the ECM, and don't say it could never happen, and the truck won't start because of it and you need to be towed to a repair shop. There's your proof that an unauthorized entity hooked up to the ECM. I'm pretty sure that would void the OEM warranty. I know...

    A Thought about Speed Limiters

Here’s a thought about the speed limiter issue for Canadian loads. If your truck engine is under warranty and Canadian officials plug into your ECM to check the speed setting and something goes wrong and your ECM gets fried, who pays for the repair/replacement of the ECM? If someone other...
