    Ford Transit question.

You are correct. Unless you put a jack stand under the tranny and remove the crossmembers. I heard there were a couple in the way under there. Makes no sense to me. I heard of a shop removing that fill plug and inserting a tube and applying suction to remove the fluid into a pan, than adding the...

    Ford Transit question.

Yes, supposedly when trans fluid gets too old, trans shops wont change it, because the detergents in new fluids will wipe out the bands or something in the transmission. I was told the same thing from a few trans shops as well.

The Power Of One in October

Dad always said the same thing, that grease is cheaper than parts. I had a friend who never did anything to his truck. never even washed it. What a tragedy. He had a water pump belt go bad on his 3126 Cat engine. They had a serpentine belt, except for the water pump. it was separate...And it was...

Supposedly they add the same amount they took out, from what I have heard....

    Ford Transit question.

I heard that there is a plug of some type on the side of the transmission where a dipstick would go, and this is where they add/remove the fluid, etc I've gotta tell ya, I'm very disappointed in Ford for this kind of stupidity..It's as if they went to Sprinter school or something.....lol

    Vans... Gas vs Diesel?

I love my Ford. 5.4 gasser with 532,000 miles on it, and would never consider a diesel ever again. The gasser is so cheap to maintain and operate...so few worries...especially in the winter... Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using EO Forums mobile app

Glen and Janice Rice Truck Struck by Bullet

They had that Volvo that got hit in the drivers side in Florida, bursting into flames, right?. If this was them, I remember almost to the point of tears seeing those pictures after it happened. That was a very beautiful truck. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using EO Forums mobile app

    Ford Transit question.

Oh yea, have you tried to add "Friction modifier" to the transmission? That does seem to help a great deal on Ford Crown Vic and Grand Marquis transmissions that develop the usual torque converter shudder. You can get it at Summit Racing, just type in the search bar "Dr. Tranny shudder...

    Ford Transit question.

I'm really disappointed as well as embarrassed by Ford for putting out a product that is awesome looking, but with many known problems. A transmission shouldn't be having problems this early on for a new model, especially after they made the public wait for how many years before it finally made...

    Ford Transit question.

Good idea, but just as well, I would never expect any kind of longevity or durability out of a tiny van designed for city deliveries. The money saved most likely would be spent on repairs. Cant expect a boy to do a man's job.

The Power Of One in October

My quallcomm reminds me of a bi-polar ex girlfriend. ..I never know what to expect next.....I just deal with it. ..lol...changed the oil, filter, greased the van, replaced the alternator, belt, belt tensioner, idler pulley today...spark plugs, gas filter, wash the air filter and a few other...

The Power Of One in October

Okay, I'd love to stay and chat, but I have a ton of things to do to the van today, and my sore throat seems to be going away.... Incidentally, I was put in Facebook jail for a post about a year ago, that really wasn't that bad.....lol....It's amazing the things I have been able to accomplish...

The Power Of One in October

Yes, I was in the same predicament as well. Rambo was 15, and led a good life. It was the hardest thing for me to do, but I knew he could not go on suffering any longer, and it was having a major impact on my work and life as well. That was a tough 6 months, with having to put Rambo down...

The Power Of One in October

Sorry to hear of you're loss. I still have my bad days of missing Rambo. It surprises me how many places I pick up or drop off at ask where he is. He was loved by many, and I never cried as hard as when I had to put him down that day. As time goes on, it gets easier. Be strong. Sent from my...

The Power Of One in October

rumour mill....some carrier now wants a DOT safety done twice a year....when vans don't even require it (except in states that require a year safety) ..but get this...they'll give you a break and only charge you $25.00....or $50.00 on the year if you get it done at their shop...talk about...
