Anyone know the name of these companies running penske cube vans?

To another carrier yes, but not back to a broker exclusively

Anyone know the name of these companies running penske cube vans?

A carrier typically will have much more control over a shipment verses a 3pl or broker. No....they aren't the same if you know anything about how freight moves. It is that reason a broker or 3 pl will call a carrier to move something. It isn't often a carrier would call a broker to move...

    The Trump Card...

I would say Hillary is in trouble. And that isn't counting her email mess. Trump will be pulling out everything all the way back to Arkansas if he is even the least bit behind. Well that isn't accurate. He will trash her any way just for sport. :D

    Where Are Rates Really?

Watch what they do, not what they say.

    Where Are Rates Really?

It is a easy item for a carrier to skim.

Anyone know the name of these companies running penske cube vans?

What a thread full of madness. Here is what I see with regard to the rogue operators. The problem isn't going to fix itself as long as many of the companies continue to use them. When it slows, they utilize their services even more to prop up their balance sheets. Charge to customer close to...

The New FedEx CC Load Board

If the DH is paid differently load board verses a dispatch, I would see that to a carriers advantage and a detriment to the operator. Not sure it is a win unless you are going home or real close to the load. If one is going home and is in a isolated area, they likely would get the load out from...

The New FedEx CC Load Board

Good bad or indifferent, it is a reflection of where rates are at. That is why I don't fall for the 1.05 and 1.10 linehaul loads that had appeared earlier in the year from a handful of carriers. No reason to be booking bargain loads.

Ummm.....they are competing against you. Even more so with 4k in the box. Many or most of the 4k loads are called in wanting a dock high truck. Those little yellow trucks are in quite a few cases taking two van shipments and throwing them on the same truck. Real popular with the border towns.

I can usually pin them down. Company signs consisting of cardboard and duct tape or lettering with a washable marker.

How Did You Discover Expediting ?

Might have posted this before but was a operations and finance director for a large vending company that had a large installation of vending machines for ToysRus and Kmart. The company equipment at that time consisted of 10 tractor trailers and it was deemed that the installation couldn't be...

    Where Are Rates Really?

"Fresh eyes" can be a liability if one doesn't know what they are looking at. Some of it you answered with your own observations. There is a reason that fleet owners are getting larger. The exposure is much different than the single operator. Margins are much tighter so the fleet owner is better...

What things do you look for most in a Carrier?

Very true. That is why I mentioned several. That in of itself wouldn't be the deciding factor, but a carrier has to support a revenue stream to operate profitably. All the niceties that could be provided, mean little if a truck is running in the red. That is what I was referring. Large carriers...
