    Power Windows...

Power Windows Both Sides - Makes it easier when you pull up to a guard shack and it is on the passenger side. Helps my wife to easily get my large vanilla ice cream cone when going through a Dairy Queen that has two "Drive-Thru" lanes! :9 :9 :9

    Loss Deductions

O/O sells his cargo van in 2006. He gets back into the business in 2007. In the process of purchasing a new van he trades in a personal vehicle, but takes a loss on the trade vehicle. Can the loss on the trade vehicle be a deduction in 2007?

    Sprinter Warranty

Chrysler Corp tried a 7 yr/70,000 mile warranty back in the 90's. After they got the bill for the repair costs, they dropped back to a 3 yr/36,000 mile warranty. I’ll guess it won’t be very long before GM drops the 5 yr/100,000 mile parameters.

    Expedite Expo Expedite Expo 2007

What a pleasure to meet so many wonderful folks who have a real passion for the entrepreneurial spirit. A tip of the cap to Lawrence & Debbie McCord for their vision to have Expo 2006 & 2007 at the Roberts Convention Center; to Terry & Rene O'Connell for their continued advice and assistance to...

    How low will you go?

Ditto! Ask yourself this question: How many times have I sat Wed, Thur, Fri and then deadheaded 400+ miles to the house for the weekend? PS. Where are you sitting?

    Gas Engine Additives

When I ran a Duramax I used Stanadyne Performance Additive. I had excellent results and GM endorses this fuel additive. This time out I will be in 6.0L Vortex; therefore, what say the EO forum members who run gas "B" units? Which fuel additives do you like for gassers?

25 gallon shower credit at Pilot

It's about time! Van Drivers, Please keep sending those emails and letters to the Fuel Stop Operators (Pilot, Love's, Hess, TA, etc.) and encourage them to compete with the "J" by offering an accumulative fuel credits for showers program.

    good food

The old Paula Deans location was better, but we still enjoy eating there. My wife has her cookbook and whips up some pretty mean chow when I am home. I really enjoy Southern cooking. The "Low-Country Bouillabaisse" surpasses anything I have ever eaten; including restaurants in Europe. The...

    I Wasn't Skeered

I have nightmares about retired folks in their 50 foot RV's backing over me while I am sleeping. They drive from up north to the south and back again once in a year. Not much driving time over the course of two trips. Somehow that makes them professional drivers. Not! One time I was at the "J"...

FedEx LTL Units Cut Fuel Surcharges

Between 1976 and 1990 the paid air fare declined approximately 30% in inflation-adjusted terms. Passenger loads had risen, partly because airlines could now transfer larger aircraft to busier routes and replace them with smaller ones on shorter, low-traffic routes. However, these benefits of...

FedEx LTL Units Cut Fuel Surcharges

America's "JUST SAY NO" program to counter drug abuse has been a dismal failure. That is why I never had a "SAY NO TO CHEAP FREIGHT" sticker on the truck. It is always easy to mouth the desires of one's heart, but it takes a little grit to get the job done. When I normally see 20-30 cent...

    Expediter Ediquite

Just had a fellow O/O who was home last week invite me and my wife out to dinner. He offered, he picked up the check. Next time, when I know he is going to be at home, I will invite him out and I will pick up the check. PS. He invited us out to Red Lobster because that is one of his favorite...

    Bye Bye Petro

Flying J for me too. Shower is worth $6.50 to a van operator. That translates into a 7.7 cent reduction per gallon of fuel with every 50 gallons purchased. I have written to Loves, Pilot, TA, Hess, Petro, etc. and asked them to match the shower credit program at Flying J to help the van...
