Yep I'm with panther and they require a CDL for cargo van. It's an insurance thing.

My GPS doesn't do traffic. The newer ones do though. I'm old school I still rely on the CB to give me traffic info. If I hear about a back up. I'll load up the iPhone map, which has traffic info. I have a CDL my carrier requires it. As far as the commercial tags I wouldn't know anything about that.

Is it just me or is one load a week the new norm for panther CV. When I started with this company 2 years ago I was averaging 1500 miles a week. But in the last 4 months even in good areas I have to sit a week to get a load. Like right now I'm in Iowa and if I called Panther they would empty...

When I worked for panther they had a 16 hour rule. Once you started rolling your 16 hour clock started. You'd have to sit 5 hours to restart your 16. They were very strict about it too. I heard there insurance cut them a deal to enforce it.
