    Sprinter vs Cargomaxx

How big of a concern is this really though? In the real world, I imagine Sprinters and Cargo Max's almost never turn down borderline loads. I also imagine that realistically, what does it matter if you are over weight in either? What is the weight difference, 600 lbs? When I was in a...

    Driving thru Chicago

This is interesting. I ended up shaving off 10 mins off my time from yesterday but I have no clue how I would have ran if I went the entire way on 294 like I did yesterday on my way back. I'll draw a map of where I zig zagged to avoid traffic.

    Driving thru Chicago

I did a run today from Indy to Oak Creek, Wi (Milwaukee) and back. pu in Inday at 9am, drove through Chicago around 1, took the skyway and traffic was smooth sailing. But on my way back, it was 4 O'clock. What is my best bet to get through Chicago at that hour? I normally use google...

Sassy, That's what I generally do, just wanted to make sure I wasn't being a prick, if I'm allowed on the dock, I generally open the door but I'm often curious how much I should prep. Have you decided on what your gonna do driving wise?

Yea the shifter is in the middle, nice & comfortable. :( But I made it back to Indy last night and I got a Peterbilt but it's a automatic ugh day cab. There is another Peterbilt sleeper can sitting in the yard but they haven't been able to find a key for it for over a week wtf lol I've got...

    Straight vs Sprinter vs Cargo

It didn't drop 50% though did it? I think its still relevant. I'd guess that it probably didn't drop more than 33%.

    Straight vs Sprinter vs Cargo

I think everyone talking about how you can make as good money in a Sprinter is overlooking the team aspect. I think you are correct in your post. When I was in a Sprinter, there are no HoS, so you can do the team loads by yourself. If your a husband and wife team, you can probably make more...

Sitting at the Petro in Atlanta after I dropped yesterday. Being in a day cab sucks. You can't lie down to read a book or relax. Its a Hino and its automatic and it has a small fuel tank. like maybe 70 gallons between the two. Its MPG also sucks at 7mpg and its slow and lacks power. I...

    Balancing Home and The Road

Some really good idea's here. Just don't send her pics of the lot lizards, save those for your buddies eyes only. But honestly, women really appreciate this kind of small stuff.

You’re going to tow my truck where?

Well when you said this: It implies that you or your co-driver would let that happen. My point is, the only way your dream scenario of a LEO walking into your sleeper to wake you / your wife up is if the driver is too stupid not to wake you first and let it happen.

Paul, I'm still only a company driver and my company doesn't seem to care about DH costs, so I'm probably biased but why stay there that long? Why not take a loss 2 weeks ago and get out of there? Wouldn't losing $300 in fuel or whatever 2 weeks ago to get out of there and get back east...

You’re going to tow my truck where?

Not to disrespect your wife or anything but why would any team driver ever let this happen? If I was in this scenario and I'm driving and some LEO is acting up, I'm waking up my co-driver to give him a cliffs and he should know to start video recording on his phone. Like someone said, its...

WARNING to "newbie" drivers looking for van position..

I actually came to post about a Sprinter driver I met at my drop yesterday. I was shocked when he told me he was getting paid .23 a mile. Then he was dead heading home because he didn't want to sit and wait. He brought along a buddy at that rate as well to help him drive I imagine. I didn't...

    wanting to come back

You don't need a DOT physical to drive a cargo vans. However, some carriers *might require it, I don't know. But to drive a cargo van, you don't need a physical, you don't need to log, all you need is a valid driver's licence.
