    Rent To Own!!

Could you go into a little more detail on what battle was fought to be successful and what constant struggles there are to remain on top. And what are you remaining on top of? I have been in this business for a while and have found it to be quite easy and very rewarding financially.

Is a Expediters Hall of Fame over due

What are we starting here, a expediters hall of fame or a Roberts express hall of fame? Expediting is nothing more than a service provided to shippers by trucking companies and it was probably happening for quite a while before Blodgett had his vision. While I think a expediters hall of fame is...

New Expediters Hall of Fame Webpage

I have been told it is a service industry that came about because of manufacturing companies going to a Just in Time inventory system.

    Verbose or Diatribe?

I am curious as to what you five fought for and achieved at FCC?

    DOT/Trooper

DOT numbers are only for vehicles over 10,000# or ones that haul 9 to 15 passengers for money or hazmat. The states that may try to require DOT numbers would be only for vehicles registered in that state.

    DOT/Trooper

That is how I do it and I am a independent. Not required to have a cdl so why waste the money on one. Not required to have any markings on the van and there are none on it. My van looks like any private window van going down the road right down to the passenger car plates on the back.

Is it the ECONOMY? Or are we to blame for the low rates?

Because those fiqures would be the bottom rate for someone to make a decent living in that size of van or truck. How long you sit depends on what Fedex offers and how cheap you are willing to run.

Is it the ECONOMY? Or are we to blame for the low rates?

I sure can. Anything under 90 cpm in a van, $1.40 in a straight truck and $1.80 in a T/T would be cheap freight.

Cargo Vans Who Run For More Than One Carrier: An Editorial

Thanks for posting that. I thought it was vehicles registered in Michigan but was not sure till I read this.

Cargo Vans Who Run For More Than One Carrier: An Editorial

Well my insurance company doesnt require a cdl or special license, I dont need a medical card, and I dont have a dot number because there only issued to vehicles 10,001 lbs. and up. As far as csa 2010 check JJ Kellers site for info on that. Some van drivers might be affected, but it would be a...

    Nemo

Ya might wanna check that JJ Keller site Greg. Under the FAQ drivers section it states that vans 10,000 lb. and under and there drivers are exempt if they dont have a cdl or haul hazmat. Not enough vans out there to worry about anyway.

Cargo Vans Who Run For More Than One Carrier: An Editorial

Would I be correct in assuming that the difference between buk seventy and tree seventy would be the cost of the baby sitting service?

Cargo Vans Who Run For More Than One Carrier: An Editorial

I think it is the bigger carriers that are driving the rates down. Because of the large amount of trucks they have under lease and the large number of loads they do each day they can make a smaller profit on each load. It is the Walmart theory, make a small profit on each one but the large...

Are you ready for DOT 2010?

I checked out that site and have a few questions. First, under the automatic fail violations no. 5, knowingly using a driver who does not possess a valid CDL. Does this mean that all van drivers will need a CDL? No.12 Failing to require a driver to make a record of duty status. Does this mean...

    What do you think?

So what your saying is that Fedex is shafting their van drivers to prop up their own bottom line? As far as increased costs and work you might be surprised just how cheap and easy it is to operate with your own authority for a van 10,000# and under. I still think the rates are headed even...

    What do you think?

Well just so you know rlent I run under my own authority and have been told from various shippers just what just how cheap these companies will haul for. And I tell em fine, if they will haul it that cheap let them haul it. As for writing Obama asking for 1.50 a mile, I already get that and am...

    What do you think?

Dont forget Bolt had a major hand in this. These bottom feeder companies like Bolt are the reason rates are being driven way down. What the industry needs is a few less companies like this.

Follow Panther Execs As They Haul Freight

Lets see. Panther sends 2 rookies out to drive around the country for 5 days and they make 2000 dollars. Kinda blows a big hole in the theory that you need lots of experience and the ability to "work smart" to make it in expediting. What Andy and Ed have done is show the world how easy it is to...
