Better times to go back to expediting? (Straight truck)

Awesome good, as in a straight truck? Or awesome bad, as in a stinkeroo van??

    Words of Wisdom

I posted an ad in the classifieds for a sprinter driver. I suggested if they did not have experience in expediting, they should read the EO forums to learn about the realities of income and lifestyle from experienced drivers. That would be you. Share your knowledge and advice. And your war...

    Newbie

There are some companies that do not require experience and help you find an owner who needs a driver, but usually nothing more than sharing your name and contact information with owners. The rest is between you and the owner. There might be some preliminary screening of your driving/criminal...

Cargo Van Need info concerning expedite brokers

New drivers and wannabes........... Experienced members keep telling you that it is not easy to get started, especially in the van segment. Listen to them. Don't invest your own money to try out a lifestyle that may not be your cup of tea, may not pay nearly as much as you hoped. Don't buy...

I will miss Herman Cain. I listened to him when I could, not too many similar outlets. I usually agreed with his goals, but not always. , I will not miss NBC. I don't often listen since there are many comparable outlets. I sometimes agree with them too, but not always..

    The Trump Card...

I looked a little deeper into the wingnut doctor. Some of her statements are backed up to some degree by cohorts in her native country, but not completely so. There is some indication that her suggested treatment is effective if given in early stages, as she emphasized. Ford Hospital in...

    The Trump Card...

Everyone on here should love Trump because he gives us something to write about. Look at the other forum topics............almost deserted. I noticed Fox aired his announcement of executive orders for decreases in pharmaceutical prices today. Other stations did not cover it live, nor was it...

    Kinda rough so far

Some expenses related to orientation are really deductions for items that drivers get at no cost up-front but are still a driver expense advanced by Bolt. No out-of-pocket expense for those items, but they aren't free either. When I was there many moons ago some drivers got their PPE or other...

    Pay...van owner/driver...how does it work?

Gross pay with my company (Bolt) usually includes FSC. Therefore, if the driver gets 60% of the gross and an additional 100% of the FSC, driver is getting 160% of FSC. I usually subtract FSC from the gross, then calculate 60% of that non-FSC amount for driver, then add back in all of the FSC...

    Kinda rough so far

I think the more common arrangement is that when drivers get 60% they pay fuel and tolls.

May Day What’s going on banter

I'm in service at home, no load offers for quite a while. Am I working or retired? Is there a difference? Other than the fact that retired means no income and no expenses, while working means no income and ongoing expenses.

2 skids vs 3 skids, how often in van

I think you can go with any company in a 3-skid. Not all of them will sign on a 2-skid. Might be important to you in the future if you want to seek different pastures.

    March into Spring 2020

To speak to one of the items WOM mentioned, I too wonder if any of you are running and how much? I'm sitting at home weighing chances of a load if I go out, where to go, how long before my deposits for company costs, insurance, etc, get too low, vs. getting and spreading the bug. Should I...

Cargo Van Will we be able to work through Coronavirus?

If you are otherwise reasonably healthy, using a ventilator is just a temporary aid to assist your body while overcoming covid-19. It is not of itself an omen or creator of a horrid future life. If you already have substantial health deficits, then the addition of a ventilator may be something...

    March into Spring 2020

Thanks, M, for the update on WOM, sad as it was. I enjoyed "riding" with them as they traveled all over, more places than a lot of us who tend to run the same highways repeatedly. I guess he bolted away from that.

    Load Range E Tire

My last tire purchases were not E, but now called C. That's for a van size, don't know about other classes. And I have no idea why the designation was changed. Supposedly same qualities as E.
