    Winter wipers on a Sprinter

Thanks for the Slushbuster information. The FAQ says it accommodates 19 - 24 inch blades. My Sprinter uses a 26 inch blade on the driver side and 24 inch on the passenger side. Will I have any issues? Thanks.

    Winter wipers on a Sprinter

Looking for recommendations for good winter wipers. Sick of stopping to remove the ice and snow that accumulates. What do you recommend? Thanks.

Am I killing my diesel sprinter by letting it idle?

My high idle has me at 1200 RPM. I think that is a good idle speed.

Am I killing my diesel sprinter by letting it idle?

All of our Sprinters at A. Blair have the high idle (ADR) installed on our vans. It was determined that most drivers were idling so much that there was possible damage to the engine. I have an Espar installed in my Sprinter, but even I know that when I'm way up north and the temperature is 0...

    Espar time of year

Another winter coming and another winter I'll be cozy in my Sprinter thanks to my Espar Heater. I will never regret my installation last year at Espar of Michigan. Best improvement I ever made to this van. I used it last night in Ft. Pierce, FL!!! Who would have expected that? With...

TA/Petro, Still a pain in the neck! Sticking with Pilot/Flying J

I've had my card locked up twice in the last 7 years. It sucks. Especially when they can only unlock it during business hours. A good part about the TAB card is "Pump Start" and DEF Pumps. When I go to the back of the Pilot or J for DEF from the pumps, I easily start the diesel and DEF...

TA/Petro, Still a pain in the neck! Sticking with Pilot/Flying J

I'm not sure who that question was directed to. Comdata charges me $1.00 to transfer money to my TAB card. It also charges me $1.00 to write/cash a comdata check. Tab charges nothing for transactions. I get a text and email message when the transfer is complete; about 15 minutes.

TA/Petro, Still a pain in the neck! Sticking with Pilot/Flying J

Sorry. I didn't know there were deals like that at some companies. I'm not fortunate enough to have any deals available and go out of my way to avoid my Comdata card. I get paid on it and that is all I use it for. I have my daughter write a Comdata check once a week to go into my credit...

That's really funny. I don't care who you are.

TA/Petro, Still a pain in the neck! Sticking with Pilot/Flying J

Stop using your Comdata card for fuel. Why do you want to pay those transaction fees? Sign up with Tab Bank (owned by FJ and Pilot) and get their debit Mastercard. It becomes a TCH card for other truck stops. You can use it at the front pumps at FJ and Pilot. It gives you an additional 2...

    My first day of school.

Cute. It's no wonder I don't see you with an A. Blair decal on your truck anymore.

Any info on A. Blair Enterprises

Well, gus42. If you are going to post, you might try to get your facts right. A. Blair (Tom Robertson) has been a native of Kentucky all his life and has had this business for over 20 years. His general manager is an ex-Chicago cop, but the owner, Tom, has only done trucking as a business...

    Texas is a dive

The reason I came to Texas is an interesting story. I was living in Rhode Island and met a member of the Fort Worth Chapter, APICS (American Production and Inventory Control Society) at a conference in Montreal. She asked me if I would like to make a presentation at one of her chapter meetings...

    Texas is a dive

I love my state. You know the expression: "I wasn't born here, but I got here as fast as I could!!" From New England to Texas. I'll never leave. And, sitting here at home in Arlington, TX while waiting for my next load, I like it that I have the best truck stop in Texas just for me...

    APU out

Just curious if you are driving a Blair truck and the Onan Generator is not functioning. FYI, I drove 2 of their straight trucks and was able to keep the generators going by doing regular PMs and getting them fixed right when they malfunctioned. Without the generator, the rooftop air would...

Stopped at the Hook, everything the same

If I were in dire straights I would be so grateful for a place like the Flying J where I could stay safely until I get back on my feet. I see people at TA's, Petro's and J's. They are the 3 that have the best parking areas where most times a person isn't questioned. I sometimes say "There...

    drive/sleep mode

If I am driving a van with placarded Haz-Mat, am I subject to HOS? I don't recall if getting a Haz-Mat endorsement requires one to know about Hours of Service. With my Class A, of course I know. I'm not sure if a non-cdl driver can haul Haz-Mat and would know about HOS. I'm not making fun...

    drive/sleep mode

So. Everybody thinks when I ask "Have you ever heard of Hours of Service Rules" I'm condescending. Are you serious? Way too sensitive.

    drive/sleep mode

I have no experience driving team in a van. Only in a T/T and straight truck. In the straight truck, my co-driver informed me before she got on the truck that she didn't do nights or snow. When I was training for C.R. England, my one and only student was totally mindless after 8 PM, so he...

    drive/sleep mode

Wow. Such overly sensitive people on this question. Is the heat and slow freight getting to you? Nowhere in that post was there an indication that the driver was talking about a van. I thought about it for hours, and never thought about vans. Especially since most van drivers are solo. So...
