    Nations Express info please!

If that is true, that he was actually told by his company that they are "too busy recruiting" to give loads to their drivers, then they are a poor excuse for a company, and don't deserve to have ANYONE driving for them! No professional, honest organization would EVER use that as an excuse!! Dan

Or, if you think you might be sitting for a while, you can always buy the 24,000 piecer and put it together on the floor of the trailer/truck. (might not work in a van)

Ark; i didn't mean it as not believing you. I figured, as you said, that they had changed their policy by the time I got there Dan

    Oops!

Ummmmmmmm, I think it became a "soapbox" cuz you asked for help on an internet forum, and you were very vague about the whole truth. Many of us tried to help; at this point I don't know what you're looking for....And no, it CAN'T happen to me. I have never, and will never, get myself into the...

    Oops!

Marc; Looking at this from the perspective of an employer, try to keep a couple things in mind.... No, you are not the only person who has ever made a mistake in your life. However, nor are you the only person who has claimed not to "normally" behave in that way. The peolpe who know you best...

requirements to join up with Panther

Last I heard, Panther DOES require a CDL w/hazmat for all drivers. Only fleet owners need not have a CDL, unless of course, they also want to drive. Might want to go to the recruiter forum and ask at the source though. Dan

Ark; I don't remember hearing about that when I was there. I turned down a pretty good bit of Canada loads, but I don't think it was ever 3 in a row......I was offered too much Canada to turn down that many.......so I don't know if they would have changed my lease on the third one or not Dan

Is it really .15/mile now? In October, it was .02 for vans, .05 for trucks....or was the .05 for st trucks only? Dan

Last year with Panther, as a cargo van O/O, it was .77/mile for Canada, and .75/mile for those wanting to avoid Canada. I didn't want to come out of the shoot already down 2 cents, so I took Canada runs. And I never really had any problems crossing the border in either direction. My problem with...

    Who's Responsible

Is it too late for an ex-expeditor to chime in? I had this happen to me more times than I would have expected in my brief but horrendous expediting career. The answer I was always given (th the point where I just quit asking) was "what you were given upon acceptance was the ESTIMATED FSC...

    New panther program??

hi everyone. it's been a long time since I've checked the boards. Hope this finds you all running profitable. i have no intention whatsoever of getting back into expediting anytime soon, barring a free truck or van falling out of the sky, but I got an email today from panther, asking me to...

    Hopin' you're all doing well...

Hi Moot. Another good question. My intention was to start out driving for an owner until I knew this was something I wanted to do for a living. I then talked to one, who told me he'd happily put me on, but not to expect to make much. He really made it sound like a losing proposition. The very...

    Hopin' you're all doing well...

Hi Mike; I still have the Sprinter; the trade value is so low that I'd take a huge hit trying to get out of it. I'm hoping that the fewer miles will keep me from having another large repair. I went back to my old job working for an international Indirect Air Carrier based out of Long Island...

    Hopin' you're all doing well...

Well Phil, my biggest mistake was buying an unreliable vehicle. My 2004 Sprinter, which I bought used and then immediately went into expediting, has been nothing but a cash-suck. A mostly-Mercedes vehicle means expensive parts and repairs, and it has been the worst vehicle i've ever owned. Other...

    Hopin' you're all doing well...

Back at my old job after a very brief yet HIGHLY unsuccessful expediting career. I see some of you on the road and at the truckstops out in the midwest, and wonder how the winter months have been fr you. Not just if you're keeping busy, but staying warm as well. (supposed to be below zero again...

    And.........another one bites the dust

Have just returned from Panther H/Q after turning in the Qualcomm unit. Wow. Not a pleasant experience. Not interested in going out throwing stones. I know I made some mistakes, and I feel there were some made on the other side of the glass as well. Chalk it up to experience and move on. I wish...

Canada Panther & Getting paid in Canada

Greg; Why it didn't occur to me I have no explanation for, but you're right, Fed-Ex overnight would be the way to go. But no, no bonus was offered, nor has a bonus ever been offered to me for any reason. Here's the job with the mileage and fsc, do u want it or not? Nice that you can get paid...

Canada Panther & Getting paid in Canada

Dave; This isn't customs paperwork I am talking about, this is the probill/BOL after delivery. I was told, by a dispatcher, that scanning via Trippak at a truckstop is the only way paperwork can be turned in to payroll. Hopefully there will be a day when I can hold onto paperwork until the next...
