    Gmt?

This post is going to show a starting time of 2:03 THIS morning! Why do we use Greenwich Mean Time? Anyone take a regular run to the UK?

Fair Warning to White Glove Dog Owners

I've spent enough time at truck stops to think some companies should be more concerned about the PEOPLE in their vehicles than the pets.

I hope any of you passing through or spending the day/night in Oklahoma today are safe and sound!

    Police Taser Teen Philly Fan

I hope this makes sense: I don't think the tasing was necessary, but I don't think it was wrong, either. The kid was eluding security, and at some point, you have to stop him. No one knows the real reason he has gone onto the field. BTW, other articles indicate that he called his father first...

    Your Sprinter Sleeper

So, if I were to do it again, if it comes down to a matter of more comfortable living space, or the capacity to fit 3 skids, I am going with the former. 3 skids just doesn't seem to come up that often.

    Your Sprinter Sleeper

I accepted one load that would have been too long for a 2-skid van; there was no additional pay involved. They knew upfront what my available length was and knew I could fit it. Obviously I could say I would have lost money by not getting the load; otherwise, nothing extra.

    Your Sprinter Sleeper

Turtle: You did an awesome job with that van!! Good goin' In my ridiculously short career, I never needed the space for 3 pallets. Kinda got the impression that I could have planned everything out to leave room for just 2. No?

Why does it work for some?

I'd like to chime in on this one if I may. I only lasted for 3 months in this game. I read and read and read these posts, trying to learn as much as I could, yet I still felt like I knew nothing about expediting when I went to orientation. But I DID know it was what I wanted to do. The #1...

    Panther Rollover Chicago

It was headed the opposite way from me, up Rt53 north of the 290 extension. Didn't have time to whip out the cell phone and snap a pic. Damage to the cab wasn't too bad, hopefully driver/passenger made it ok.

    Panther Rollover Chicago

Saw a Panther straight truck being towed on the expressway out of Chicago this evening. Looked like it had a pretty nasty rollover. Anyone hear anything?

    bike/motorcycle/etc on straight truck?

I know moving vans are allowed to build decks on the backs of their trailers when they are out of space. If a straight truck has a liftgate, maybe you could strap the bike down on the gate if your truck got too full.

So you wanna be an expediter?

Yeah, I do...but I'm still digging out from my first attempt, so I'll not further saturate the field with newbies :)

    money

Are you really expecting that easy of an answer? I'll tell you what you should do......Do a whole bunch of homework. Gonna buy a vehicle? Drive for an owner? Look at some of the other posts here. You'll see that the expedite business is very unpredictable. No one can tell you how much you will...

    Expedite Solutions

Seems no one ever sets up websites like "praiseforthisbusiness.com", but only forums devoted to negative comments. As mentioned previously, there are always more sides to every story. Do your homework, talk to as many people as you can whose opinion you can trust, and hopefully you'll be able to...

    Truck for road test

Your best bet might be to rent a Class B truck; however, that will also mean you'll need to find someone with a CDL to sign it out and drive it to the test site for you. Whichever way you choose, hope you manage to find a good solution. And good luck with the tests! Dan

    Looking for a change

Reese is referring to Panther's policy of making van drivers stop for 5 hours after they have been driving/on duty for 16 hours...... Usually, when a load comes thru the QC there will be a message attached stating that the run includes a "5 hour break". However, I once did a 1081-mile run to JAX...
